Speaking of smelly cities - looks like Wichita is smelly too... There are few other articles that you can find that show the air isn't as pristine and clean in the greatest city in the world - Wichita - as old Cold would like everyone to believe.
http://www.kake.com/home/headlines/117472618.htmlI fell like really I am arguing with a wall here (when it comes to Cold), but let me also share some fun facts that show that this guy really doesn't know what he is talking about.
Using this site as reference -
http://www.neighborhoodscout.com/ks/wic ... e-u/#crimeWichita has a 7.68 Violent Crime Rate (per 1,000 residents), 50.84 Property Crime Rate and 138 Crimes per Square Mile. Wichita State University does not technically fall into a high crime area, but you certainly don't have to travel too far to find a higher crime area.
Just for comparison Omaha has a 5.56 Violent Crime Rate (per 1,000 residents), 45.21 Property Crime Rate and 161 Crimes per Square Mile - and contrary to popular belief, Creighton University is not located in the "worst" part of Omaha crime rate wise. Just like Wichita, there are far worse areas then where the Universities are located.
Creighton is located next to the up-and-coming North Downtown District where hundreds of millions of dollars have been invested, and will continue to be invested in new housing, business and recreational projects, so the area around the University will continue to improve and "clean itself up."
Can the same be said about the area around Wichita State University? I don't want to flame here, or incite anything - just wanted to let the facts speak for itself. I have been to Wichita on several occasions and think it is a decent place - just your average mid-sized Midwestern City - much like Omaha with its own fair share of problems, I don't think anyone on either side has that much to brag about. Maybe Cold is in the closet that he secretly would love to live in Omaha...
