If I'm not mistaken Cold, didn't you predict CU's downfall about 3-4 years ago, yet here we are heading into the NCAA tourney for the 2nd straight year as a top 25 team? Your predictions are clouded by your obvious jealousy of CU.

Let's not forget top 10 in the nation in attendance, 1st team all-American, soon to be 3 active NBA players and not finishing below 4th in the MVC since most current players were in preschool. But keep predicting the Jays downfall if it makes you feel better about your program that has only 3 NCAA trips in 23 years, zero titles in St Louis and only a couple regular season titles since the 80's. Facts aside, keep believing that WSU has carried the Valley lately.

[quote="shoxrox"] Sure, they'll get some more money right away, but in the end they'll be in a similar NCAA position (arguably worse) than they are now in the Valley, except minus the conference regular season titles, which they have few of anyways.

Can you please back up this statement with some facts? Maybe give us a list of the top 5 in regular season championships by school. Since your post was based on fact, right? I may have read the display wrong in St Louis, but the number next to CU was greater than the number next to any other current Valley school in both season and tournament titles.

A middle of the pack finish in that conference will be NCAA bubble territory from here on out. That's probably what Creighton will consistently get and if they're happy with that, then so be it.

But I'm sure if wsu got the invite, as you and your ilk were practically begging for a couple months ago, it'd be the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Your grapes, I believe they're sour.

The thing about this is every team in the Valley would jump at this same chance.

Sucks Creigthon is leaving, but no reason to blame them. If any other Valley school got the chance to play in a basketball conference like this they would not turn it down. Even if it means being middle to bottom pack for a little while.

I will miss the Valley. It is a good basketball conference and it was good for Creighton. I will miss the Lou, obviously for CU fans many great memories were made there.

I will not miss Cold....lately his posts sound like a scared little boy whistling in the dark to keep his spirits up.

I also will NOT miss hearing about div 1 aa football or whatever they call it these days. News flash, nobody outside of your schools gives a fart about your little football division. It really was driven home when people were making arguments for one of the North Dakota schools to jojn the Valley and were talking about adding the national champions....didnt know that happened and still don't care, nor does 99% of the country.

Anyway, I will still watch and follow the Valley and wish everyone well going forward...hope to see your teams in a tourney or the NCAA soon.

I'll miss the MVC quite a bit. I feel like I've spent over a decade and a half talking up the conference to coworkers, friends and neighbors to the point that they were like, "enough already!" Its a good basketball league with solid programs in baseball and volleyball as well. The memories I have will live on forever, especially those that have arisen out of the conference tourney in STL.

I don't buy into talk about the league falling apart after our departure either. The league will survive as it always has. I know some WSU fans are worried, but I see no reason for that. WSU should be poised to dominate across multiple sports as the remainder of the league will have a hard time competing with WSU's resources. I think it is both sad and humorous the levels of desperation and jealousy shown by some WSU posters like Cold and Baller lately. Bitterness has taken an entirely new level.

Replace us with another private, nonfootball school. Keep basketball as the focus and resist the urge to push football to the forefront or you will lose the privates and WSU to the A10 or another conference. Finally, I'd like to suggest the eastern schools pick up their travel numbers to STL. You've got the conference tourney in your backyard and you don't support it. Like many CU & WSU fans, I feel that it should have been moved from STL years ago due to lack of interest there.

This... I am, and always will be a general fan of the Missouri Valley Conference. Even though my favorite school will not be a member of the conference after this season - I will still cheer for the Valley schools and know that Creighton leaving does not spell doom to the conference. Now if Wichita State bolts to another conference, the MVC will be hurting, but we'll save that discussion for another day. And as I posted in another topic, I hope that CU can schedule series with former MVC rivals in every sport across the board.

I will still follow CU. I am a valley fan and CU has been a valley member for such a long time that I will still root for them against non valley schools. This year I will be rooting for them to go very deep in the tourney. P.S. I think they can with a good draw. As far as next year and beyond I don't see things ending the way most CU fans think it will but the temptations are too much to say no. Best of luck and CU will need it.

Playing with the big boys when geographically you dont fit in and your coach is unproven at that level is a scary thing. The fan support/money is there but that does not always translate to success when your playing with the big boys. All that does is get you a seat at the table.
