Better season - Creighton or Wichita State?

Clearly Creighton is the better team as evidenced by regular season and tournament titles. But who had the better season including the NCAA? It's kind of similar how history will tell us that Lasalle made the Sweet 16 even though they were an afterthought in the A10 but they are now the last man standing for that league.

Honestly the Tourney is separate from the season. Creighton had a slightly better conference season. WSU has had a better tourney. Can't combine the two IMHO due to seeding and match ups. They are separate seasons in a way

I call Bs. You play the regular season for the right to play and compete in the post season.

Let's be honest Wichita State got a great draw against a beatable number one seed. I'm not sure if the same result would have happened against any of the other one or two seeds. Not trying to take away their success but I do believe that is the case.

I really hope to see Wichita St the final four. Good luck guys.

El oh el at anyone who would say Creighton.

Would you rather have been National Champion UConn in 2011 or any of the 8 teams who finished ahead of them in the Big East? The Dance is what matters and what people remember, folks.

Hell, I would rather have Bradley's 2006 than any Creighton season in history.

Creighton had the better season (thus far anyway). They won both conference titles outright, and won an NCAA tournament game. That's very impressive, and very hard to do.

But making the Sweet 16 is more memorable and is worth much, much more to the school and outsider's perceptions of the program, so I think everyone would rather have WSU's season (as would I), despite it not necessarily being technically "better" than CU's season.

IMO...

Completely agreed on all your points... WSU did get a slightly better draw in the NCAA tournament (Gonzaga might have been one of the worst #1 seeds in a few years, and I think Duke was more deserving of a #1 seed, but its all a moot point at this point). But the big difference is WSU is moving on to the Sweet 16, and the Jays' season is over today, better regular season\tournament = Creighton, however, overall = Wichita State (getting to the Sweet 16 is huge), and it's no question.

I guess in all your 1-and-done NCAA tournament history you never got a "great draw," huh. How about seizing the moment every now and then. CU has had so many more chances in recent seasons than we have, but yet in the past seven years we have won multiple games twice. But I guess we have just gotten lucky with a "great draw," facing much higher seeds like Tennessee and Gone-Zaga.

Creighton had a better draw last year as an 8 seed than WSU did as a 5 seed. It happens.

Gonzaga was still the No.1 ranked team in the land. Whether they were a 1 seed or not is moot. You can say they were a 2 seed if it makes you feel better. WSU still beat a 2 seed then.

Gonzaga was getting a lot of praise on here for a while but when WSU beats them they're not as good now? They looked pretty good to me during the course of the year. If mid major basketball fans are saying Gonzaga was perceived as "weak", and then everybody here strives to be the next Gonzaga, well you're doing your own school a disservice then.

Creighton had a better regular season (slightly). WSU has had a better meaningful postseason. I'll console myself in the fact that WSU will be playing on Thursday night while Team A will not.
