I think the simple point was, all four have turned down opportunities to make more to stay at their respective school.

Minnesota and (??? not sure what other school you're talking about) could offer Jacobson a contract, and it would likely be about double what he's making now. I don't think anyone would throw anything approaching $2 million at him.

If WSU makes the final four, what's to stop UCLA from offering Marshall $2-$3 million a year? I don't think they will, and I hope he doesn't take it if they do, but I think your argument is invalid. There's always a bigger fish.

The only other job really out there right now is UCLA. Don't know if Jacobson or Marshall is on their radar, but either would be dumb to take that job. Firing a coach who has taken you to three Final 4's and a conference championship this year? You could go with any coach in the Valley that has had success and they have turned down "bigger" schools. Bigger isn't always better, but you better pay your coach so it is tougher to say no to those offers.

When Marshall was hired I changed from being very upset that Turgeon had left - to being very happy that Turgeon had left. I felt we had upgraded.

It's not always about the money piece of it. The listed coaches are very happy where they are. They both have job security like they will get no where else. They are "gods" in their towns. They make more than enough to live a GREAT life in their cities. They all love the cities they live/coach in.

In this day and age where it's final four every year with a championship or two or get fired at the big boy schools would you leave a "mid-major" for that?

There has been a shift in coaches taking and leaving jobs the last 5-7 years. Coaches at smaller schools that are good year in and year our aren't leaping at the big boy 1 and done schools at nearly the same rate.

I hope Jacobson and Marshall (as much as I dislike him at times) are both in the MVC for another decade plus.

Agreed. I think the George Mason/Butler/VCU runs opened a lot of eyes, coupled with the not unexpected failures of guys like Monson at Minnesota. Things are much different now compared to fifteen years ago, when a jump from Tulsa to FSU, or Illinois State to Vanderbilt, was a no brainer for coaches.

Yep. Almost no coach that has made the jump has had success...Laranaga at Miami may be the exception.

Coach Jake saw what happened to Mac when he left UNI for Iowa State...he won't be leaving CF for anything for a while. Minnesota was of two jobs that worried UNI fans, Wisconsin when Bo leaves is the other. However, it's clear just how unrealistic Minnesota fans/administration are and I don't think Jake wants any part of that.
