Great 40 minute performance tonight by the Shockers. Got to be honest was skeptical of all the talk about Baker while he was hurt since I had not seen him play but the kid is fun to watch and just seems to be in the right place all the time making plays, adding a dynamic to WSU.

With all the injuries the Shockers are sort of like that MLB team that made a couple moves at the trading deadline that now that they are much deeper and experienced than previously. All the playing time the rest of the guys got over that span has really helped develop the depth and this team is clicking at the right time.

Go get Ohio State on Saturday, can't wait to come home from the Evansville CIT viewing party at the local cinema and catch the Shockers playing for the right to go to Atlanta and the Final Four.

I had us losing to Louisville in the Final Four.

I am so, so happy that Syracuse is on the other side of the bracket from us. I can't imagine us doing anything against an elite zone defense. We're not great against bad zone defense

I held off on buying a Sweet 16 shirt. I'm going to hold off on the Elite 8 shirt. Come on Final Four.

If this run ends in the Elite 8, so be it. I just want to point out that Wichita State of the MVC beat #20 Big East Pittsburgh and never trailed by more than 2. Then they beat the #1 team in the entire country, a team that only lost two games all year, and only one with their starting 5 -- and even that was off of a stolen inbound pass in the last few seconds. We never trailed by more than 8 to Gonzaga, and only trailed for ... what, six minutes of the game? And then won a Sweet 16 team against a team that beat the co-champion of the Big 12 and the SEC champion while never trailing once.

In 120 minutes so far in the NCAA tournament, I think Wichita State has trailed for less than 10 minutes. Total margin of victory: 38. We didn't squeak by to the Elite 8 ... we just steamrolled three straight good-to-excellent teams. Only Syracuse and Louisville have won by a larger margin so far, and Louisville had a 16 seed to beat up on.
