The last place team in the MVC beat a F4 team. This is a tough, tough league and the competition WSU faced in the league made this run possible.

You always hear that the power conference teams are going to be better than Valley teams because the power conference teams face tougher teams every night during conference play. I call BS on that.

Every MVC fan should be proud tonight. Look at what your teams did against the Shox. The Shox only won 67% of their games in the Valley. If the Shox lose their next game in the NCAA's, that would give them an 80% W/L record in the tourney. The Shox have a better record against the NCAA tournament field than they had against the Valley.

Was thinking the same thing. You said it much better than I could have though.

And there was not one Wichita State player on the MVC Defensive Team.

Ultimate team defense.

In past years I thot Marshall had make some poor decisions in close games, but tonight he was aces, from the very beginning. Putting in 4 ball-handlers the last 2+ minutes was smart.

We've played four games this tournament.

160 minutes of gametime.

Wichita State has trailed for roughly 13 minutes.

THIRTEEN.

We've either had the lead or the tie for 92% of this entire tournament. 92% !!!!!!!!!

And they'll STILL call us lucky.

We beat the #1 seed and the #1 team in the country. The #2 seed and the #7 team in the country. We beat a Pittsburgh team that was #20 in the country and was being called the most underseeded team in the tournament before it began, with ESPN analysts saying they should have been four seed. We beat a La Salle team that beat the B12 co-champions and the SEC champions. We not only beat those teams, but we MANHANDLED them for the majority of those games. We had at least a 20 point lead on two of those ... 18 on Pittsburgh ... only a measly 13 on Gonzaga.

And they'll STILL call us lucky.

Not only are we not lucky, I will be the first to say that this is one of the more dominating Final Four runs in NCAA history.

(Granted, Louisville has only trailed for 2 minutes I think, but they still have to play Duke).

I agree.

More than that, I think Gregg Marshall has had utterly incredible gameplans going into these four games. In every single game we've come out and really took it to our opponents in the first half. I think a large part of that is simply coaching ... we came out with a better gameplan than any of our opponents. Almost every one of our games so far has been a dominating start with later adjustments by the opposing coach making it closer ... but man, the coaching performance in the first half thus far has been incredibly impressive.

The biggest problem Wichita State has had this entire tournament is complacency. We got too comfortable with our lead and just started wanting the game to end. That's an incredible problem to have against the level of teams we're playing. Whenever we're playing all out we've been dominating.

Next week, though ... that's going to be a hell of a tall task up against Coach K or Coach Pitino with a week to prepare for us.

Meh. Been there, done that.

Marshall has become a much better coach since he moved to the Valley. He's not the same coach he was when he got here.

I would encourage MVC fans to take a second look at Marshall. He's calmed down a lot. He's become a better coach. He's unlikely to get T'd up in St. Louis.

He's still going to be animated, unafraid to say what he feels, and - let's say he's going to have a lot of swagger - which is probably a polite way of saying he's unafraid of displaying his "confidence".

He's a different coach than he was 3 or 4 years ago.

Early n game, thot Armstead might lose it with all his turnovers. Liked how shocks kept posure n didn't look back....(many contributions from all over) until they got way ahead, and then they did start looking back, and that is one way to help lose a lead.

Like it that you didn't knock off Ohio St. You knocked off THE Ohio St. Oh me, me, me. THE Ohio St. Ho.
