You play in a 1,500 seat gym and can't even sell that out.
I said UMKC plays in Municipal Auditrorium. I mis-named it. It is Municipal Auditorium and BB is played in the 7500 seat Arena (called the Municipal). The Auditorium also contains a 2500 seat Music Hall. Municipal was built in the early 1930 and can not be replicated today--to costly. A beautiful faclity.
I remember laying on my living room floor and listening to the radio broadcasts from Municipal of the SMS (now MSU) Bears win the 1952 and 1953 N.A.I.B (now the NAIA) National Championships---followed by a 3rd place finish in 1954. Don't remember if it was the 52 or 53 semifinal game that the Bears Beat Indiana State with only 4 players on the floor (started the tournament with 10--2 called to spring training with the NY Yankess and left early, and 4 SMS players fouled out). Played the last 4 or so minutes with one starter and three end of the bench subs. Will never forget the radio announcer screaming into the mike to be heard over the crowd---especially rember his yelling "O my god, someone just fell out of the balcony ." A great victory.
