I understand your ongoing loyalty to UE, but UE's only contribution to the league (since your son graduated) has been to provide a cannon fodder team that occasionally knocks a bubble team out of the NCAA's.

I think it's not so far in the future that UE's fans will tell their children and grandchildren, "Back in the days when UE still played D1 ball, we ...(got beat by some really great teams that scheduled us for an easy win)."

That's a touch embarrassing.....

Great win Aces. The first big win of the conference noncon belongs to the men in purple. Again, great job.

You will also see Butler tumble out of the Top 25. For the sake of the conference, I hope they return.

You may be right, but those of us who know basketball know that every team is dealing with something: Hopf is injured and cannot play like he typically does. We cannot whine about it; all we can do is go to the bench. Butler University is a class act, fine basketball program, and great team. They, too, have a back-up PG. They too, have a bench. Basketball is a team game. Teams win. Teams lose. The victory today was won by the majority of players and not our "superstar."
There is no difference between basketball and life. Give both your best and ignore the "fans" on the sideline.

Great win Aces. The Valley needs more of these type of wins.

I absolutely agree with you. Problem is, the sports media doesn't really know basketball.

Even with a couple of phantom fouls called at the end of regulation to allow the Bulldogs to draw even, the Aces pulled this one out! Lance Willkerson, voice of the Aces, called this game, a "program-changing" win." I hope he's right. Great job by the TEAM in purple!

Holy Road Win against #23!

Didn't expect this at all. Nice work Aces.

IMO, program changing is a bit big to throw on this, but it was definitely a great effort and something to be proud of.

Great Win By The Aces Today!!! UE and Butler have a long tradition of playing one another, typically through out the years, the Aces never play well at Hinkle Fieldhouse, so it was a good win by these Aces!

It was nice seeing the team play well for both halves for once.

Enjoy this win Coach Simmons and players, you deserve to celebrate tonight!!

This is a "Program Changer" for the Aces! Remember, kids in Indiana that are mid-major talent and want a private school education have a limited amount of choices. Butler and Evansville will compete with kids from time to time and now that the Aces have beaten Butler on their home court, and stopped their streak of 17 straight home wins, it will tilt the odds in their favor.

In addition, to those of you that wanted to kick UE out of the valley last week, and also complained that there haven't been any good wins by a Valley team this year: You are Welcome and we will be staying for awhile :D !

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. I doubt we will hear much about Butler now.
