agreed, now whether we go with 10 or 12 is anyone's guess??

I gotta hear the story behind this. I'll hang up now and just listen.

This should be good.

Not speaking for anyone besides me, but Belmont has had some great years, including this year. But their fan support has been bad. This year they were 26-6 and 13-0 at home and they only drew 2,700 per game on average. Their arena maxes out at 5k too currently.

That's a fair point, cpacmel. Although, I look at it this way, they've been Division I now 17 years. During that time, they have had 3 different conference situations. During their 11-year run in the A-Sun, they did enjoy the continued rivalry with crosstown Lipscomb (who also reclassified from NAIA in the late 1990's).

If they joined the Valley, it would be their 4th league situation in 17 years. It takes some time to develop familiarity among the fan base.

They also have a sugar daddy and a whole potential pool of them if they played their cards right.

That's fair. Lately I have just been looking at bottom lines. The fact that their arena maxes out at 5K is worrisome, when you consider the lowest team for attendance just averaged that. So even if they do come out and sell out every single game, their attendance is going to put them at or near the bottom. And that's best case scenario.

Then throw in how many fans that potentially translates to Arch Maddness...and it's a red flag to me.

Just not a fan. Been many times. Never had a truly awful experience, but never had very many redeeming moments either. I hate all of their pro sports teams without exception. The weather is lousy. The people are kind of heavy and very opinionated. I don't like the accent. It is grating. The ladies there are kind of meh...with wide birthing hips mostly. A few that are nice, but you can find them anywhere. It's just my opinion. Some people like the atmosphere there and the overrated pizza. I actually prefer Rockford. Sears Tower is sort of cool I guess. Wrigley Field and whatever they call the new Comiskey are awful and should be razed by a bulldozer today.

It's now been one week since the MVC/UIC meeting. An official announcement should be forthcoming in the next week or two (either yay or nay).

Why can't you believe it? Is it because we don't have the "oil-rich deep pockets", that you love to brag about, that the Dakotas have?

Or is it because Bill Ayers is a former "distinguished" professor at UIC.

Literally makes me puke that the MvC are such sissies not to add ndsu but a cellar dweller like uic loyola. Just embarassing. You obviously don't want to be dominated like ndsu did to the mvfc

Would you like a handkerchief?

You should go add another thread about how NDSU should be added to literally every conference's forum on the interwebz again. How many forums have you been laughed off of now?
