What does this have to do with anything?

Just that the move to the A10 would be a significant improvement for the Shockers, enough so that they might consider such a move if it was offered.

The A10 is adding George Mason and possibly Davidson. If SLU and Dayton do indeed leave the farthest west team would be in Pittsburgh, PA. The A10 is reaffirming themselves as an east coast conference. I have no doubt that WSU would like to upgrade conferences but the A10 ship is pulling up anchor and sailing back east. They hated traveling to STL, I seriously doubt Wichita would be an option.

If Creighton wants back in the Valley tomorrow, do you seriously think we say no?

There would be no reason to other than spite.

Depends on if SLU and Dayton leave. If they do, I don't think anyone really expects the A-10 to be an option for us.

The A10 wasn't, isn't, and won't be an option for Wichita State. I have no idea why WSU fans think they are going anywhere.

I don't think wsu fans realistically think we're going anywhere. After the Loyola press conference, our president was quoted as saying that he was lobbying for a couple ither options that were closer to wichita. If that's indeed a factor, travelling to the east coast would be a nightmare. Not necessarily for men's basketball, but for all the other sports, especially the ones that already operate in the red.

I think you're mixing apples and oranges. It's not like WSU's President was lobbying against VCU for someone closer ... he was lobbying against Loyola. And the schools closer to WSU were also better in basketball than Loyola.

UMKC?????

If he was arguing geography, he was lobbying for ORU, definitely not UMKC. It's embarrassing to this conference that UMKC was even considered.

Denver would also be significantly closer to Wichita than Chicago.

Completely agree.

The MVC has plenty of programs that are capable of competing for at-large bids on a consistent basis. SIU and MSU both were a couple years ago. Programs just need to get better, and pretty sure that's the goal for all programs. There was a long time when Wichita State and Creighton weren't competing for at-larges...people need to step off the ledge, the league will be just fine.

Not trying to pick on any one person or fan base, but this is stupid.

Of course programs want to get better. Wanting to do something and actually doing it are 2 entirely different things.

Go back a quarter century and list all the teams that got at large bids from the Valley that will be members next year and not named Wichita State. SIU is going to have a few (because of Creighton mind you) and UNI has a couple. You can say it's about winning games but there are facts and there is hope. The facts are that every other program in the valley not named Wichita State doesn't invest in their program enough to develop a product that has anything more than a pie in the sky dream of getting an at large.
