Obviously the primary concern right now should be for the care and well-being of the alleged victim. Until an arrest is made or more facts come to light, however, this is still just an accusation. Some accusations are true, some are false. Not really much to discuss until we know more.

Right...

Over the top much? This has to do with an individual not an athletics program or university as they had nothing to do with it. Or are you suggesting otherwise? It takes a certain level of stupidity to make a statement like the one quoted. My guess is it might be "huge" among a few clown Creighton fans in Omaha. For the rest of society I'm sure they can separate a disgusting act of an individual and the school he was attending and once played for.

Not surprised in the least that the first fan to jump to that angle and assume an accusation is guilt was a Creighton fan.

They just can't help themselves, even when they're gone.

The focus should not be on accused player but on the victim. We always spend too much time in cases like this glorifying the accused party with attention instead of people that really deserve it. That goes for both counts of rape and giant news stories like school shootings and bombings.

And lets be clear: No one has been arrested. No charges have been filed. The WPD made a mistake by even letting this get out to the public; 5 people have had their reputations ruined by this: the four players (all of whom will be blamed), and the woman will to deal with whistleblower hate even if the player is eventually found guilty.

So lets avoid throwing around rumors or blame. This should be handled civilly and with a focus on protecting the victim instead of on attacking the university or the player. The way the police and media have handled it is shameful.

No, clearly the first thing that comes to mind is "how can I use this to insult WSU?"

Well done in being the first to go there. Congrats. I hope your mom is proud that you're more concerned with making your rival look bad than the well-being of this woman.

How do you know that there was an attacker?

UNI went through something like this with one of our other sports teams a while back and it wasn't handled very well (at least from her perspective).

Guilt or no guilt, completely made up or true, this guy isn't wrong to say it is a black eye for WSU. Black eyes heal and can heal very quickly, doesn't change the fact that if you click on every major sports websites CBB front page and you immediately see the headline "Member of Wichita State Final Four team invistigated for sexual assault". That is a black eye. Like I said though, these things heal themselves very quickly if proved untrue.

I hope for alleged suspect and victim it is untrue, then, like every black eye, 1 year from now, no one remembers you had it.

Looks to me like he was saying , i quote, "Also just shows the character of the alleged attacker. One bad apple spoils the bunch" He is saying exactly what your saying i think. That it only shows the character of the alleged attacker , and not the character of the team or university. So I dont know why you are jumping all over him. The one thing he should of said, that he didnt say, is that it only shows the character of the attacker IF he is guilty of this. It's possible she wasn't really raped, but who knows at this point. It is unfortunate, and also unfortunate for WSU because it IS a black eye for the time being, even if it isn't true. And even though it shouldn't be , because this was in individual's mistake IF it happened, and NOT a University or Team mistake. The news article really shouldn't have thrown in "Member of Wichita's Final 4 Team", must of been a Jayhawk fan.
