The reason I went the way I did with the starting line-up, and it really is just a guess, is because the best I can tell, neither Gulley nor Mvouika are good with the ball in their hand. I think both are okay in the open court, but I think if either plays the 2, then you only have ONE guy that can handle the ball against a man or trap defense. Both Gulley and Mvouika can rebound and shoot, and with their strength and athleticism, they should be solid against most 3s and 4s in the Valley, but might struggle against quicker, defensive minded 2s. Not to say they won't play the two, but I see both of them as versatile wing forwards more so than wing guards.

Actually Mvouika was originally recruited by Virg. Tech as a pg and reportedly handles quite well. But not being here this summer might hold him back abit initially, so if either Williams or Thomas assert themselves, then Marcus could play the 2 and one of them start at pg. Gulley isn't a ball handler per se, but is very good off the dribble attacking the goal. He scored a significant number of his points off drives and finishes as a junior two years ago.
We have a lot of options at 2/3 with Gulley,Mvouika, Marshall, Scheer, Ruder, Simpson all in the mix some until things start to become more clear. Even Gavin has some skills as a shooter and handler, but would probably struggle to guard some of the gaurds who play the 3 in this league, so I doubt we go that direction. In Gulley and Mvouika we have pretty versatile guys who shoot, drive, rebound and defend a variety of sized people, Simpson and Ruder can flat shoot, and Scheer is a vet who at times has shot well and always plays tough. I think we match 1-3 well in the league, 4/5 will determine how good we are.

Just like with Carter, everything with Mvouika is simply by reputation and conjecture right now. Jucos are always interesting. We've had those who play well from Day 1, alot who take about a half a year for the light to go on, and those who just never play to their athleticism and skills because other things like attitude or basketball sense just don't measure up. You've had excellent results with jucos of late, and I'm sure Carter will be another quality player.

You should probably concern yourself with other things like understanding basketball instead of trying to be the english monitor. Sad because there was actually a basketball discussion happening until your mouth flapped again.

You should probably concern yourself with trying to figure out who is actually on your team. If you think disrespecting your own players by not bothering to learn their names is acceptable, then that's your issue.

I'm done with your "basketball discussion," otherwise known as "blatantly and continually hijacking a thread about Wichita State to being about why anyone should care about the single worst team in the conference last year."

Thanks for actually spelling your players' names right after having it pointed out, though.

It's a chat board, I don't really concern myself with editing before posting. The fact that commenting about it is all you can contribute to a thread is clearly your issue. WUfan made comparisons between the new post players for the two teams and I responded. That's called a discussion , something you have a hard time allowing to happen w/o your insecurities leaking out all over a thread. WUfan and I often disagree, no big deal; you seem to think the only way to do so is to have to act like a jerk and try to flame. But that's been well established on several boards under various names for years now.

If you want a thread where the only team mentioned is WSU,I suggest Shockernet, if you're allowed to post there. Otherwise deal with it . Your last statement again reflects your singular inability to relate to anything that isn't about you; again deal with it , I'll post what I want when I want.

All that said I really did get a kick out your attempt to make .8 rbs a game a significant difference; I wonder what the rather sizable differences in ft% and ability to shoot treys would've looked like if you had that advantage. I'm sure monumental in scope. And do you really think there are huge differences in most teams ranked between 200 and 270 ?? That's weak, but when you are scrambling ya gotta grab whatever I guess. Thanks for the laugh. :D

It's VERY early to make starting lineup predictions BUT, my guess at this point is:

Marcus Marshall
Ron Mvouika
Jarmar Gulley
Gavin Thurman
Christian Kirk

There are just so many more possibilities this year though.
T'Mac could be the post with CK moving to the 4. Devon could be the point with Marcis moving to the 2. Thurman could be the 3 with Gulley coming off the bench (how is the knee?). Rudder, Sinpson, and Scheer all bring different things to the table as shooters off the bench and Rudder could start at the 2.

Dorrian Williams and Bruce Marshall seem to be the odd men out at this point but far from outcast.

Given the information that Mvouika can handle the ball, I can now see that as more plausible. Surely, Addo and Scheer will be starting or first off the bench at one of the front court positions right? You mention Williams as an odd man out, so in your estimation the freshman PG is going to take his minutes?

You either sound like a really cool internet tough guy or a very mature 4 year old. I can't tell the difference yet.

Considering the title of the thread, maybe you should be the one "dealing with it".

Wow. Finally the reason for this insane hard-on for me comes out.

Who exactly do you think I am? Can I at least get a user name so I can read his posts?

I use the same name on Shockernet: http://shockernet.net/forum/member.php?2864-Rlh04d

Sorry. Never posted on here or on there with any other name. I don't exactly do the anonymous hiding on internet message boards very well -- want my LinkedIn URL, Facebook, etc.? If you think I'm flaming you, you are clearly confused -- you have insulted me ten times as much as I have insulted you, at least. Apparently because you think I'm someone you used to have a problem with. Instead, you're just pointlessly attacking someone you had never talked to before based on some laughable assumption.

Ask an admin to check IP addresses if you're that fixated.
