I wish you guys good luck but I'm not sure there was a need for this at a non-BCS football school where recruiting is important.

Don't you ever even dare accuse me of that. That is bullcrap and you have NO clue about what you are talking about.

This move was the best move, not only for Bear Nation, but also for Missouri State.

247Sports will be as big, if not bigger than Rivals within the next few years. It's run by ex-Rivals guys that bolted after they realized their software was going out of date and they couldn't do anything about it. They just paired with CBSSports and that will bring even another level of coverage.

I said it when we first made the move, and I will say it again. A N Y profits made off of subscriptions will be donated to the Bears Fund. We aren't in this to make money, but when we can get the expanded coverage that comes with a move like this for our school, it's worth it.

We've already had a few instances of over 600 unique visitors on our boards and site, and that is unique to the MissouriState.247Sports.com site, not combined. We only had that many visitors online maybe 3-4 times in the past.

Sorry, off my soap box, it just pisses me off when clueless idiots accuse people of doing things like that.

Football and Basketball, it is free to start.

So people are seriously going to eventually pay for it?

Yeah...

People already are.... I know it might be outside the means of a poor shocker fan...

Meh. I won't pay for Florida State football news, let alone news about an FCS football team and a bad basketball team, but to each his own. The simple point is that it's the internet and you get nothing for your money. I could certainly go pay Warchant.com $30 a month or whatever it is ... or I can go to TomahawkNation.com and get the exact same information for free. The problem with sites that charge subscription rates for their news is that they lie to get your money ... it becomes a gossip outlet. Pay to view this exclusive rumor! And exclusive almost always equals made up with them.

I can understand the point of looking to reach a wider audience ... and you can do that at SBNation. I do not understand the point of attempting to gouge your fans for money for second-hand information that you find on Twitter.

Just make sure your parents get access to the site as well, since they're the ones paying for it.

I wait on the edge of my seat for what the actual paying numbers will be once coveted I-AA football season begins. Make sure you give us the details when the time comes.
USA Today Coaches Top 25 Poll Conference Breakdown:

MVC: 1
WCC: 1
Atlantic Ten: 1
MWC: 1
Big East: 1

The Big East is Big Time.

It's not your team. It's not your board. What the hell do you care?

If people feel like they aren't getting their monies worth, guess what? They can quit paying and find the info on their own. But once we get into the thick of things and get it up and running full speed, I'm guessing the additional articles and news that will be on display will be more than enough to justify the money to most people. The additional recruiting news will be a bonus.

FWIW, I am not one that has decided to pay. But I'm not going to belittle the ones that do.

This is a total non issue. Most of the site is free. The free part is slicker looking and in most ways an improvement over the old site. If it doesn't generate a single paying member for the extra stuff then we haven't lost a thing.

Kudos to our administrator for being forward thinking in regards to this.

Sorry. Is this thread only here for advertising purposes? I didn't realize discussion regarding it wasn't allowed.

Am I free to create a site, sell a subscription to it, and then advertise it on here without any repercussions or criticism?

I seriously doubt you're wearing a moderator hat right now.

And while I'm mocking the idea of charging for something that every other program here happily has sites that provide for free, I'm only belittling one person, who was directly belittling me first.
