Yet another thread of WSU and ISU fans being the only contributors. Here's the deal. No one said ISUR is going to the final four next year. What was said was "its college basketball, crazy things happen" or something to that effect and WSU's final four run WAS a crazy thing to most people. It was merely used as an example of something unlikely that happened. So stop talking about us spinning things when you're the ones spinning things. Anyways, I am a bit disappointed in BA's actions but am not surprised or disappointed in him being kicked off the team. He was kicked off of football and basketball teams at Minnesota AND kicked off the football team at ISU his first semester on the team. It was only a matter of time. As much as I loved watching him when he was on, he was probably the most frustrating player to watch, just chucking up three balls all game whether they were falling or not. For me, Johnny is the only player that I'm really sad to see go. He had the most potential IMO and he is a very smart player. I hope he ends up somewhere better than where he is now, because I think he could go places. All that said, I have no idea how this team is going to do. Best guess is that sheer talent will keep them barely out of Thursday. I think another 6th place finish would be considered a pretty good success.

I would be shocked if ISU Red doesn't finish 10th. SIU and Drake look pretty bad too, but both of them have proven coaches with much more experience than Muller. Giacoletti led Utah to the Sweet 16 and Hinson, while never reaching the NCAAs, had several squads which were a hair away and quite frankly should have been invited. All Muller's experience amounts to is taking a 2nd place projected team and finishing 6th. Now he has the mammoth task of meshing a team full of newcomers all trying to figure things out at the same time. Their incoming class, while good, is incredibly overrated by their own fans. He's my coach of the year if he manages any higher than 8th.

I think booting Allen was the right thing to do, but now the team is devoid of any upperclassmen with experience. It was the right move, but it's made devastating by the fact that everyone but Allen had been swept away. If the others hadn't been chased away it would be less of an issue.

I wouldn't necessarily say ISU is headed to the abyss, but this polyanna-like optimism from its fans is somewhat amusing. They're a team in rebuild mode. They'll probably be pretty awful this year, a little better next year, competitive the following... we've all seen this process play out time and time again. Bradley went through / is going through the same thing.

The recruit optimism is wonderful, and I hope you enjoy the offseason. Just keep in mind that every team has recruits they're excited about. Not exactly like ISU is pulling in all-americans and the rest of us are filling out our rosters with guys who got cut from the school's top intramural squads. C'mon.

WSU will be at the top of the heap. I think most of us are far more confident that ISU will be in the bottom three than anywhere near the top 3 next year.

As for the trend, most of us are not convinced your coach is that great. He can prove us wrong this year. Doing so would include flirting with staying out of the play-in game. I'd say if you do that, you should crack open a cold one and look forward to the future.

Spot on & very well put

My only question: Is this Bradley's 'little bit better' year coming up?
