Yep..because they have so much trouble competing with the juggernaut from Springfield.......

Needed overtime at home last year..... They are a joke and easily the worst program in the league.

Do overtime wins count less than those in regulation?

That joke and easily the worst program in the league is 8-9 against the mighty Bears in the past 7 seasons. Chew on that for awhile.

An average RPI over 200 vs an average RPI below 100. The aces are undoubtedly the worst program in the league.

I will say that I believe the Aces have the least potential of anyone in the Valley. They are what they are. If others would step up to the plate, Evansville could be a solid bottom feeder. Instead, the conference allows them to be a midpack team because other schools haven't taken care of business.

If what you say is true, then WSU is the best team in the league because the other shools haven't taken care of business.

The University of Evansville, has by far, the lowest enrollment in The VALLEY.
Drake being next, with almost twice the enrollment, as UE.
Monies spent on the basketball program, until recently, were non-existent.
When UE came to The VALLEY, they were very competitive.
Yes, a twelve year drought...in a word...SUX.
But, basketball is cyclical.
Look at SHOX.
From '88-2002, what did they have?..."one winning season", finishing near the bottom of the conference, year in, year out.
JAYS, weren't always The Gonzaga, of the mid-west.
SIU Carbondale, went ten years without a winning record, in The VALLEY.
The program Coach Simmons, is putting together, with The FC and the new practice facilities,The ACES, should be in good shape this season and many more seasons to come.

I would have to disagree because Evansville has shown they can compete at a pretty high level. They've had a 7 year period with 3 NCAA and 2 NIT appearances. They've had a decade where they averaged over 10,000 fans per game. Are they going to be the premier team in the conference? No, but there is no reason they can’t consonantly challenge for a top 3 finish in the conference.

I will be the first to admit the 9 or 10 years prior to the last 2 or 3 were terrible (for various reasons). But with the move to the Ford Center, the addition of a new $3.3 million practice facility, and improved recruiting, I really think the right steps are being made to pick the program up off the floor and back to being respectable. It has been done before at UE. There is no reason to believe it can’t again.

Can the UE attendance numbers return to what they were 15 years ago? Those numbers were pretty impressive, and would be a big lift to the success of the program if they returned.

If the team becomes a contender again, will the attendance numbers follow? Or is attending UE basketball no longer the "in" thing to do in Evansville?
