Many fans aren't as rabid as us posters.

That being said, I like that Muller answered the call when it came to a better nonCon and I'm hoping the fans support his efforts. A win/close game against Dayton, with a nice-sized home crowd, could be just the kick start we need.

Does anyone agree with this

clearly there seems to be some
hatred in this comment, and none of the

But, I could be wrong

great post.

Fair enough. Perhaps many of the "non-rabid" fans have sentiments not too far off from those of rlh04d's. Low attendance doesn't not support the idea.

Good luck against Dayton. I think even maintaining a close game against an opponent of this quality would continue building momentum for this young team.

I don't find it overly harsh or douchey.

Probably inaccurate (and I think harsh but I AM a Redbird fan). I don't think there was anything Dan could have done to keep Nic Moore as a Redbird. Nic was convinced that Nic belonged at a BCS school (based on a quote from him). IMHO, when Jank left, Nic was gone as well, no matter who the next coach was.

And.. I think that loss was bigger than we knew at the time. So I can't agree that Dan was the only factor.

"Non-rabids" make up the majority of fans at any school, but WSU still had 10k+ for every game during Marshall's rebuilding.

I'm going tomorrow and hopefully we get a decent turnout hopefully in the 8k range. The students should go because finals are this week and probably need a break from studying and it would be a great way to take their mind off of it

You seem to have no clue how many syllables you're supposed to be using in a haiku, friend.

I'm not saying anything about how Muller will be overall as a coach. But Muller is the reason the Redbirds are as bad as they are right now. He clearly made a decision to burn things down to start over. Under that mindset, things have to get worse to get better.

Calling out the fans for not showing up in large enough numbers when Muller's hitting the reset button is pretty ridiculous to me. He can call me a douchebag if he wants, but I would not want to see my coach calling out fans if our coach had put us in that situation. I don't care who you are or in what sport you're playing -- if you're taking the "burn it down to regrow it" strategy, fans attendance is going to drop until it is back on the upswing.

In that position, you just accept that attendance will be down until Muller gives them a reason to believe. You don't burn down the program AND yell about lack of support. That's like punching someone in the mouth and yelling at them for saying "ouch."

What would a blowout loss with a weak home crowd say, then?
