I'm not saying anything about how Muller will be overall as a coach. But Muller is the reason the Redbirds are as bad as they are right now. He clearly made a decision to burn things down to start over. Under that mindset, things have to get worse to get better.
Calling out the fans for not showing up in large enough numbers when Muller's hitting the reset button is pretty ridiculous to me. He can call me a douchebag if he wants, but I would not want to see my coach calling out fans if our coach had put us in that situation. I don't care who you are or in what sport you're playing -- if you're taking the "burn it down to regrow it" strategy, fans attendance is going to drop until it is back on the upswing.
In that position, you just accept that attendance will be down until Muller gives them a reason to believe. You don't burn down the program AND yell about lack of support. That's like punching someone in the mouth and yelling at them for saying "ouch."
