I do think the Bears have an outside shot at the ncaa's at this point. We are more likely an NIT team this year though.

I think that MSU, Drake, and InSt all still have hopes for an at large. Other than InSt loss to Tulsa - non of them have any bad losses - and other than InSt win over Notre Dame they don't have any good wins. There is still hope but they have to win some games.

Agreed. If Drake could somehow beat Iowa today and win the rest of their OOC games, they'd be in the mix for an at large with a good record in conference. That would leave them with a good win (Iowa) and no bad OOC losses. Not predicting this will happen, but it's not impossible.

Absolutely! An Iowa beat down today puts Drake right in the mix. The only issue is that Drake, MSU, and Indiana State have limited remaining opportunities to get those crucial wins against ranked teams and/or teams with a likely top 50 RPI at season's end. Now would be a good time to start winning these types of games!

We all have to get it done in the OOC.

By the end of the year that ISUb loss to Tulsa might not look so bad. I see Tulsa as a young improving team that will probably have a decent record and RPI by years end.

I was thinking this as well, but they've got to start winning some games at some point for it to hold true.

Sure it is, by looking at it you can see exactly what is going to happen to your RPI against an opponent - there is no more waking up the next morning and going "oh, my we won last night and our RPI dropped x-slots". You will already know it going to happen.

It also gives you a 95% solution of where your end of record needs to be to be in the discussion. So if your EU fan you can have solice that if they finish 18-5 for the rest of the season they will be in the discussion for not only an at-large but MVC championship.

With all the information provided you can easily run you own whatif simulation by writing simple matlab script to go from the macro to the micro. Of course, it does ruin the magic for some who want to delude themselves and think they have a chance when they don't.

Hey Answer Man, does SIU's and Bradley's at-large chances take a hit after today? Do they still have a chance if they go undefeated the rest of the way?

How can somebody get this insecure about something but fail to try and back up what they are trying to prove? What's the point of message boards if you can't discuss at-large possibilities until March? This is the most asinine discussion I've ever seen on a message board before. I agree that the trolling poster just likes to argue for the sake of arguing. No substance at all whatsoever.

I just love how you think I should abandon my belief that it is too soon to predict at-large bids. That isn't a hissy fit, it's sound reasoning. A hissy fit is what you have done. And I didn't say you can't make predictions. I can't stop you. You've made your prediction. I may get to laugh at it in March or maybe before then. WSU hasn't won any Valley games this year. Their fans have Final Four on the brain. Butler did too the second time around and wound up in the NIT.

I wish you would know just one thing that you write about. Butler went to back to back NCAA title games.

Checkmate. :+1:

Once again, the facts and WSU hate/jealousy get into the way of TheGuyWithoutAnswersMan.

Not to defend the young man, but I think by his phrase " the second time around" he was referring to after their second FF appearance.

So your saying he is prediction another wsu ff? Why didn't he just say so instead of beating around the bush.

Wouldn't even try to guess what thoughts he might be harboring, but me thinks he thinks differently than I.
