Feel free to be a fan of a Top 10 team and join in the fun.

Seriously though, great times can be short-lived. It should be enjoyed while it lasts.

I don't mind, if you tell us about the Doggie successes or the outstanding Doggie players or other outstanding performances by the Doggie program. I look forward to your news.

Why don't you start by telling us all about your romp over Missouri S&T?

You don't remember Salukitalk...err... Valleytalk, do you?

Seriously, I think this thread is also a reminder for certain fans of certain schools just where their place and room for talk is.

Being in the Top 10 is kind of a big deal. If you don't want to partake in it, then don't click on it.

Top 10 is something to be very proud of and very worthy of a thread. If this were any other Valley school their fans would be crowing too.

Wichita State, 2013-14 (previously 2006-07)
Bradley, 1985-86 (previously 1967-68)
Indiana State, 1978-79 (previously 1977-78)
Drake, 1970-71 (previously 1963-64)
Loyola, 1965-66 (previously 1963-64)
Evansville- N/A (Never ranked, ever...wow)

Departed members of the modern era:

Tulsa, 1983-84 (previously, 1981-82)
Creighton, 2002-03 (previously, N/A)

Also of note- the most recent MVC team in the top 5 of the AP Poll was Wichita State in 1981-82. Second most recent was the Sycamores in 78-79.

What tells me that the number 11 MVC Power Raking of is suspect----especially when the next 10 rated conferences are separated by 5.5 points. If 2012/13 and this year's WSU were excluded the MVC might not be in the top 20 conferences. Lot of good team histories as small/D2 colleges. But this is not the 50s and 60s where most of that history was made.

Didn't UNI make it up to #13 or 14 after the Sweet 16 run? Maybe that was the Coaches Poll or RPI but I thought that they were Top 15 that year. Not Top 10 obviously but #19 seems low

It wouldn't have happened until after the season and apparently there isn't an AP Poll after the season as was stated earlier about the Shockers being #4 last year.

We were probably #13 in the final Coaches Poll.

interesting. looked up appearances in AP poll and look at MVC (1949 to Present) http://www.collegepollarchive.com/mbasketball/ap/app_total.cfm#.UrsYUbSPOoo

57. BU - 128 times (7.9 avg, highest #1)
68. WSU - 97 times (11.5 avg, highest #1)
96. Loyolla - 49 times (6.4 avg, highest #1)
113. Drake - 32 times (14.6 avg, highest #7)
122. ISUB - 22 times (6.5 avg, highest #1)
132. SIU - 17 times (18 avg, highest #11)
150. ISUR - 11 times (17.1 avg, highest #13)
159. UNI - 7 times (23.3 avg, highest #19)
187. MOST - 1 time (20.0 avg, highest #20)

Wonder if the purple teenager can solve the riddle of who is missing from this list.
