#8 WSU vs. UNI

Ugly, back and forth game so far. UNI opened hot with a 12-2 lead, Shockers have been surging since.

WSU 22-19, 4+ minutes left in the half.

Shockers lead 30-22 at halftime despite shooting just 33%.

Wow, kind of like a 7th grade game at times, up and down the floor, rolling, tackling, shooting.
I think they said UNI missed the last 9 3's, its a wonder they are still this close.

I know Van Fleet gets more accolades, but I'd give my left nut to see Baker in Panther jersey.

Bizarre officiating in this one. Refs letting the players mug each other in the paint, yet calling ticky tack fouls away from the basket. Seemed like they finally started acknowledging the paint fouls in the last few minutes.

I'm fine with it as a WSU fan, as I think a physical game benefits us against anyone in the Valley. But man, as a basketball fan, the inconsistency in officiating this year is very annoying. Sometimes you can't breathe on a player in the paint without a foul, sometimes you can have a battle royal.

UNI seems to have fallen in love with the three. Odd for a team that doesn't shoot well from there.

I think most WSU fans think Baker has the better shot at the NBA. He'll get tons of PG experience in the next few years to prep for it.

UNI only shot 30%, gave up a bunch of offensive boards, and missed a bunch of FTs.

Fortunate to have it at single digits at halftime.

I agree. Baker just kind of does everything well. Has there been a better all around guard in the Valley the past 20 years? And just a sophomore too.

Good game. UNI has to start hitting shots again.

Baker has as much basketball "sense" as anyone I have seen in a while and is always positioning himself.
Quite an all around player.
