lol, wow the team down by a bunch of points threw in a meaningless layup at the buzzer. How despicable.

It was pretty classless. I don't think I've ever seen a situation like that before. WSU had called off the dogs. There was 5 seconds left. Nick Wiggins was getting to high-five teammates or shake hands with the UNI players and that little punk takes the ball and goes in for a layup.. again with 5 seconds left. If the layup was that meaningless, then why was it shot?

I'm pretty sure if the shoe was on the other foot, you wouldn't be laughing it off as nothing either. But then again, you need something to laugh at.

Um, no. I absolutely wouldn't care one single bit. It was a 15-20 point game, it was completely meaningless. The losing team played till the buzzer. Big deal.

classless, LOL.

I guess next time WSU will just have to leave their starters in til the end, unless of course only the losing team is allowed to play til the buzzer?

It's one thing if WSU was still trying and there wasn't 5 seconds left in the game. Looked total bush league and the crowd reacted as such.

Oh well. No biggie though. Just another W over the Panthers.

Yeah, another win. I guess that makes 1 in a row against the Panthers.

I'm more concerned with the 15 in a row myself.

Just another game for WSU. Just another game to make UNI's season. You'll have to forgive him, there's a fair amount of buttsting going on in middle IA since they aren't relevant any longer (and never really were outside 1 season).

Wow...the Panthers aren't making enough baskets. Strange...you might almost think the games are decided by a different outcome.

He is just so good overall and brings a front court presence to WSU that no one else in the Valley can match.

He's been much better over the last five or so games. Really started working inside more and not relying on being a spot up perimeter player. He's been incredible offensively in the paint recently.

He had other errors in the game, but I think he's adjusting to being the clear focus of other teams now. He didn't for a while.

That steal and layup at the end of the game might be worth 6 - 10 points for the Shox in Terre Haute. One thing I've learned is that when you're the underdog hoping for a win, you don't give your opponent a reason to want to kick your butt.

The Shox are struggling to Play Angry this year. That meaningless, boneheaded move gave the Shox motivation to Play Angry in the return visit.

We're playing Northern Iowa in Terre Haute this season? SAWEET! That's gotta limit their home court advantage.

Shocks haven't lost in Terre Haute since 07-08 and even in that game had a 21 point 2nd half lead, watched it disappear in about 5 minutes, then rebuilt the lead to 10 and had the ball with less than 2 minutes to go before handing the game to the Trees by missing FTs and needlessly fouling and letting ISU tie the game in regulation before collapsing again in OT.

The play at the end of the game was a freshman mistake and I am sure Jake will have something to say to Jeremy about that.

I also remember an upper-classmen from Wichita dunking a ball with a 7 point lead and about 5 seconds left in the game a few years ago when he could have circled it out and run out the clock. Things happen when kids are competing but I would expect an upperclassmen to know better than a true freshman.

Maybe the return game in Cedar Falls will be permitted to be a basketball game instead of some kind of aerial rugby. So much for trying to minimize contact this year. Unless of course anybody breathed too hard on either team's guards outside it seemed. Then again, if either team could have hit some outside shots there wouldn't have been as many scrums going for rebounds either, but geez, that physical a game did not favor UNI.

Anyways, disappointed we lost but knew it would be uphill. We performed better than last year there at least and with a much younger/inexperienced team. Glad this trip is out of the way early in the year. Now need to go to another place that has been trouble for us for years and try and get our first road win.
