This is an age old issue---instate major universities not scheduling smaller instate teams. So, for fun and games you math/RPI/SOS/Ditto Heads do a routine of your MVC team playing your state's major university teams. Recommend you do it for the most recent five years (2010 through 2014 seasons) to iron out ups and downs. Should also be done for home and away games each season, and done against each of you major DI universities. FOR EXAMPLE:
2010 KU at WSU and WSU at KU
KSU at WSU and WSU at KSU
2011 KU at WSU and WSU at KU
KSU at WSU and WSU at KSU (continue through 2014 season)
2010 ISU at UNI and UNI at ISU
Iowa at UNI and UNI at IOWA
Same 5 year format and home and away for DRAKE and ISU and Iowa, all Illinois MVC school versus Illinois and Northwestern, all Indiana MVC schools versus INU, Purdue, and ND, MSU versus MIZZOU.
Have Fun!!! Be truthful
I have not seen any response to this challenge---an opportunity to say how your instate mid major MVC school would fare against you instate major university BB team.
Been a few gripes on the forum on major programs not scheduling with the mid majors. Latest is Bill Self at KU not agreeing to schedule with WSU. Coach Weber at KS State is willing to schedule with WSU, but under some un described conditions. Don't know what the situation is in the other four MVC states.
But, I find it significant that no one/fan has stepped up and attempted to show how good or how bad their MVC team would do against their major instate BB team(s). I think a good %%%% of fans want to cry, but not real loud and real long, because they can't get a game with the big boys. To get beat 70-90% of the time does not produce good stats for post season tournament selection and seeding.
Do not take this to mean that I am knocking you team, or any team. I am not!!
