Evansville Aces At WSU Shockers

Postby Ace Dad » January 26th, 2014, 7:53 pm

Fact 1: WSU has a much stronger basketball program.

Fact 2: WSU has a much better basketball team.

Fact 3: The Aces won both games last year.

Question: Will the Shockers be more inclined to put a 25-30 point ass-whupping on the Aces because of last year or is this just another game?
There is no difference between basketball and life. Give both your best and ignore the "fans" on the sideline.

Don't both teams have another game before facing off next weekend?

I expect this will be just another game for WSU. Marshall had a chance to really run it up against Muller and ISUr in Wichita, and instead he classlessly let off the gas and started playing walk-ons with 12 minutes to go.

He does not seem interested in humiliating any Valley peers this year. All coaches have long memories, and he knows that.

Just another game for the Shockers. Marshall and company will attempt to put an early exclamation on the game and run up a lead. They will try and maintain in the second. Evansville stands a punchers chance of winning.

Sorta like how I'd have a punchers chance of knocking out a Klitschko in the ring.

Marshall is one of the more intense coaches I've ever seen but I really don't think he would ever intentionally run up a score.

I think Evansville's wins last year are important for the idea that the Shockers can't take any win for granted, but not with the idea that Evansville has anything over any other team in upsetting WSU. Colt burned us last year, and he won't this year. Like last year, Evansville will have to have its main scorer go crazy on offense to have a shot.

Not sure why we're skipping the Loyola game, though. I think Loyola has a better shot, and a better player in Doyle, than Evansville does.

And WSU isn't going to beat many teams by 20-30. He plays a deep bench to keep scores down. And if it gets out of hand, he'll have two walkons in.

WSU will win both games easily. The spread will in the 17-20 point range. WSU has been killing it ats. They are one of the best teams in the country ats.

The conversation on Sunday afternoon after the tourney has been announced should be interesting if they run the table and still do not get a one seed. The Valley is way down and WSU is way up.

They have two quasi-tough games left...at ISUb and the Valley championship game. I do not see them losing either of those two.

I'd be willing to bet you said the same thing TWICE last year. I know I did.

If the Shocks play any where near their potential, it won't be close. The Aces are not as good as last year, and the Shocks are a final four team again.
