Good game Shockers. You have a very long and athletic group of athletes. Probably the biggest team I've watched in the McLeod Center, and VCU has some big boys.

I wish our squad was full strength. It would have made the game more competitive, but probably doesn't change the final outcome.

One interesting tid bit from the game was a Portland Trailblazer scout who sat next to our group. It was fun talking with him and getting an "insiders" perspective. He came to watch Baker and Early. I asked him if anyone else had NBA talent and he said not right now. I also asked him if Doug McD was a lottery pick and he said no. Late 1st round or early 2nd round.

BTW, I really like Morgan, Washpun, and Bohannon. Three nice underclassmen. If some of the RS bigs on the bench can contribute in a meaningful way next year, UNI will be in great shape.

Pretty cool! Did he say if/where he thought Early or Baker might get drafted?

No he didn't give any predictions for Early or Baker.

He did say the Pacers were going to win the championship this year.

Someone else asked him about Baker, and his comment was "He has a shot".

I took this to mean he is probably a fringe player and might not get drafted, but has a chance to be picked up by a free agent.

We'll happily turn him over to the NBA in a couple of years after Valley fans are sick of him.

. Marshall seems to have quite the love hate relationship with Early. I don't see how a player can talk back to the coaches so much. After the play where Early should have been Teed up he really railed on the coaches. Probably why he sat out for quite a while in the 2nd half.

A lot of good players have had relationships with their coaches like this in the past. Tyshawn Taylor at KU is the one that comes to mind most recently. Him and their coach would get into flat out arguments on the sideline but they both understood that they needed each other to win. I think that's a little bit what is going on here.

I do think that Early has some right to be frustrated with how few touches he has been getting the past couple of games because, with all due respect to the rest of the valley, there is no one who can guard him.

There's probably going to be games in the tournament where Early is going to need to get 15 shots, or more.

Buss is essentially a sophomore also, if he wants a medical redshirt I don't see why he won't get one. The Virginia transfer will be in that class as well. As crappy as this year has been, there's still a lot to like for the future.

Man, Wichita is tough as nails this year. I don't care if the valley is down at the moment. You don't run the table in this league unless you're really, really good.

Buss has played in 21 games. He can't get a medical redshirt. Hope he recovers fully and gets back to the court soon.
