My instinct was to chime in with "friends don't let friends read BleacherReport", but it was actually a decent article.

I think Jason King wrote it.

Bleacher Report is changing as they are hiring very qualified people to write their articles. King came from ESPN and was one of their lead writers.

King is an excellent writer. I've been extremely opposed to BleacherReport for a long time, but I'm giving them a chance based on hiring King to turn things around.

Really good article. Thanks for posting. This year's Shox team just seems like an outstanding group of young men on and off the court. I hope they tear through the big dance.

Cool video by the NCAA also. Hope they keep that chip on their shoulder.

I don't follow high school basketball that closely in the state of Illinois over here, but I'm still not sure how ALL of the schools in Illinois let this kid leave the state for Wichita.

They were too busy kissing the footsteps of Jabari Parker and they missed their window.

In another article about VanVleet, he was asked about this. He committed to WSU in the middle of the summer AAU season (first week of July, I think). Then the big boys started calling, inquiring how firm his commitment was. His response was, and I paraphrase, "I'm the same player now that I was last month. You saw me play in June. I saw you at my games. Why are you so interested now?"

The kid is just flat out solid.

Yep! VanVleet (and to a degree Baker, Early, and Cotton) personifies everything that is righteous with College basketball. They have all been overlooked and passed over, yet through sheer will have overcome.
