Southern Methodist was ranked 25 in AP and 23 in Coaches Poll. It looks they didn't make it. Has that happened much?

Something to file away in the future if you want to talk Wichita and conference realignment. AAC needs to do something.

Look at noncon schedule strength:

Louisville #149
Cincy #95
UConn #78
Memphis #55
SMU #295

I'd say most of those teams screwed over themselves by avoiding difficult opponents out of conference. Particularly Louisville/SMU.

I have no idea, someone should start one...

There was a Utah St team a few years ago, but no other time...

Why? after the first game you are going to have to play tough teams that can beat you. This is what this WSU teams thrives to play - games that mean something. You can't fear the mountain you are about to climb, but embrace it. Kentucky has alot of warts.

Sure they are all tough after the 1st game. But there's no doubt some draws/ brackets are tougher than others. Shox are more than capable of coming out of the midwest just saying it will be tough. Tougher than just about any other bracket.

I think a lot of the pundits don't like our athleticism outside of Early and think we are "small" on the interior. They are in for a big surprise when they see two 6-9, 260 lb jumping jacks in the paint. While Coleby and Lufile don't score a ton, running those two out in succession will be a difficult defensive match-up for anyone.

So there.

The committee's first priority when placing teams in the bracket is geography. Therefore, since Indianapolis and so central to most of the elite teams, the best 2 seed, 3 seed, 4 seed, and so on all have Wichita's region listed as their preferred geographic region.

Therefore, Wichita gets the stacked region, because geography.

The NCAA has to cut out with this geographic fetish of theirs. It's stupid.

TheAsianSensation wrote:It's NC State being in, by a million miles. That was a terrible, terrible selection. And everyone missed that one. I got the other 67 teams right, but so did basically everyone else.

I'm more curious to break down the seedings. I think I'm off in a few spots and right on in a few others. I'm calling my performance "average" this year.

NC State was an absolutely horrible selection, worst one since Air Force years back. Terrible pick. 3-9 vs. top 50, home losses to Miami, NC Central, loss at Wake Forest. Awful. What's really concerning is the committee apparently was also considering FSU and Georgetown among 4 other teams for the final spot (and yet Providence wasn't in if they hadn't won Big East tourney). Some real space cadets on this year's group, only one egregious team picked, but no idea what they were thinking with NC State, or the seeding for Louisville for that matter. Sometimes they use the numbers, sometimes they don't, but suddenly with Cards they decided they had to (but not Villanova as a 2 seed).
