Look at little further down that list and you will see Jake Kelly on the bench team. I fully expect a monster season from Mr. Kelly. He has talent to play at the next level (read as NBA) and needs a strong season to prove it. He is lightning quick and can finish strong through contact. He is a long, athletic point that will give most other guards in the valley troubles.

Having said this, I would love to build a team around Jake kelly, especially with multiple years of eligibility. Even with one year left, i think he will be the leader of a VERY strong team in the Sycamores of Indiana State.

Anyone taken an incoming freshman yet?

I'll take Drake's Rayvonte Rice. Gatorade Player of the Year in Illinois... 6'3" 235lbs... 37 inch vertical... 163 for 167 free throws his senior year of HS (good for 2nd all-time, NATIONALLY)

Best of all, he has tremendous "will power" and something to prove.

Others Considered:
Doug McDermott
Seth VanDeest

Who do I want on my team this year? ...Sam Maniscalco

You are the first person I have ever seen call Jake Kelly "lightning quick" and that he is an NBA type player. He is probably a solid type guy but let's not overdo it.

If i'm the first person you've heard say this, then you haven't heard many people talk about him. I've seen Jake play since he was in 8th grade. He played ball for several years around terre haute (Marshall, IL) and then transfered to MIC (same conference as the Terre Haute Schools North and South) member Carmel High. He is an amazingly talented individual and with a healthy year he will put a look of awe on the faces of many with his ball handling ability and sick crossover moves. Just wait....hopefully you'll get to see him in action this year.

Ok I dont want to cry unwanted but is it just me or does every player for the Sycs get the hatorade because they play for Indiana State????? Lathan and Kelly could both legitmately find themselves playing in the NBA... and no one seems to find them to be anything but just a semi Solid valley player...
