Shockers Down !

Postby Brot4britu » December 25th, 2014, 10:12 pm

What is wrong in Wichita ?? Hawaii a very ordinary team gives them fits on the Beach and now G Wash dumps them at home !!
Has the Hoops world risen in class or is something haywire with the best in the Valley ??

Well. now the real season is about ready to start--Things will probably return to normal--BUT there are some new kids on the block along with some BIG black four- legged jungle beasts .

GWU beat the Shockers in the tournament (NOT on WSU's or their own home court).

Sorry !! I just got home , checked CBSSPORTS and did not look further. THAT makes this somewhat more palatable --NO, it does not . I still think they are best in League.

Last year was a special year where those pivotal games like tonight seemed to break for WSU, they didn't tonight. Did you expect WSU to be undefeated forever - it is college basketball. Notice how many of the Top 15 teams lost this week.

G Wash dumps them at home !!

Hawaii is not in Kansas. Bet you feel stupid.

No, not stupid just tired from Christmas and all--a "good" tired though--especially in view of RAMBLER resurgence--
BTW I do know difference between Ks and HI having been to both many times--Can't beat Hi's weather --BUT you also can not beat folks in Kansas !!

Congrats, Bro, on a team (THE team) from your conference losing a game in the non-conference slate. What's wrong? Look no further than a senior starter who is injured and hasn't played for 2 1/2 games. Is that enough?

If not, I suggest they've gotten over-confident that they can pull out games all the time, no matter how far down they are. The team hasn't had a real practice in about a week. That changes very soon.

Not going to lie. We've played average this year. Hawaii, Alabama, and Detroit are the definition of average teams and honestly you could even say they outplayed us for 35+ minutes in those games. All the teams we've beaten by a decent amount have turned out to be terrible, and the two quality teams we've played have beaten us.

Come next week, both George Washington and UNI deserve to ranked higher than we do. Fred and Ron need to learn their limits, they are the problem and they are killing us. Both are still on the Wooden Watch list, showing how that national writers don't actually watch our games and are going purely on last year's reputation. Fred has been completely inept this season and has been outplayed in every match-up versus average or good teams, and it is all because he is trying to do way too much. He is forcing everything and watching his shooting percentages plummet as a result.

We had good (not great) performances from our freshman in Hawaii. Kelly, Holland, Nurger and especially Brown all took big steps forward. Our veterans all tried to do too much, out of the flow of the offense, and did not look good. We will either get better or we will grind it out with Illinois State, Loyola, and Evansville in a race for second place.

We've been told year after year after year recently that the freshman coming in where every bit as good, if not better, than the people they were replacing - including a large amount of bragging about this years freshman/sophomore classes - and there would be zero drop off from previous teams to this one and going forward. Now that they are being put through the ringer things aren't as rosey with them as we were told.

I still think WSU is a very good team and by the end of the season will be much better but HI, GW, and Bama aren't world beaters and had ISUr, Evansville, MSU, etc... lost to those teams WSU fans would be complaining not stop about how MVC teams are crapping the bed against teams they should beat.

I really think Cle made last years team, and the team before, play at a level MUCH higher than they actually were. FVV and RB are obviously very good players, but something looks very different with the team, and those two, without him.

So you were tired from all today activities, so tire that you didn't even watch the game, but not tired enough when you got a update saying the "Mighty WSU has fallen" - you rushed over to "valley talk" to shout it out to the valley world - sure sounds like what a normal tired person would do.

BTW, if the "rambler resurgence" is true, WSU loss royally just hurt Loyala, just hurt UNI, just hurt Evansville chances for at-large. Because there are 5 other MVC teams that will have RPI when it is all said and done that will be in 200-300 range. The MVC margin for getting multiple teams in the NCAA is very small.
