PantherSigEp wrote:I don't get the dick measuring just to address a troll but if you're wanting to label only UNI's best stretch then you start with the 2003-04 season from which UNI has been 15-8 against Evansville. Before 2003 we were fairly regularly at the bottom of the MVC. Since coming to the conference Evansville has 1 NCAA appearance correct? A first round loss to Kansas or someone?

Congrats on the win but I don't see the point in trying to rub dirt into the wounds just because one or two idiots comes out and makes a fool of themselves. I'm certain it wouldn't be appreciated if the shoe were on the other foot. Evansville looks like a strong contender this year, but if you think that absolves them from having their history, as a perennial punching bag for the conference, from being referenced occasionally then you must've forgotten how the internet works. It would appear they are well on the way to erasing that moniker though. Just keep taking care of business.

As one of the posters who fired back at your idiot, I apologize to all of the rational and educated UNI fans. I certainly was not trying to rub dirt in any wounds, just responding to the idiocy that Kyle presented. I usually try to avoid these clowns, which is why I never posted on Valleytalk. I understand every school has moron posters, including a couple of Aces ones. I also cruised your board and saw that he was being dealt with there as well.

I do understand UE has earned a well deserved reputation for sucking the last decade or so. That hasn't always been the case, just as UNI hasn't always been good. Both programs have had their ups and downs, and hopefully it's up for both going forward. Again, just responding to your poster boy and his belief that it was Kentucky-Robert Morris part 2.

It was a hard fought game between two of the supposed top teams in the conference this year. I expected nothing less. Not looking forward to Cedar Falls.

I think a lot of my fellow Aces fans need to get a little perspective. It was a nice win over UNI but we still have much to prove on the road. We currently have three road wins and none are very impressive. IUPUI and Miaimi Ohio are both really bad. Belmont was without their best player and lost like 4 straight home games without him by bigger margins than we beat them by. It looks like our fans are setting themselves up for a disappointing loss at ISUB.

The game The ACES won against IUPUI, was played at The FC.
The ACES also have two neutral site wins against Fresno State and San Francisco. Both were played in Florida (Gulf Coast Showcase) where they lost to the tournament champion Green Bay by two.

I'm not sure if you are patting the Aces on the back or if educating them, but to add to your post, Fresno has an RPI of 275 and San Fran has an RPI of 202. If on the road, they are nice wins as any wins are good on the road but at a neutral site, they are not impressive in the least to the NCAA on looker.

Check disparity at the free throw line.

I know UNI and that ain't UNI and I know UE and that ain't UE.

Actually wasn't patting The ACES on the back, at all.
Was just correcting the previously posted ACES tally, concerning home, away, & neutral site victories.

Not quite sure what you mean by "disparity"?
I think your grievance may have been valid, if the foul totals were 29-14.
But it wasn't. It was 19-14.
With UNI picking up four of those 19 in the last 90 seconds, when they were trying to extend the game.
So, up until that time the foul count was 15-14. The ACES were aggressive on offense and drew many plus 1's and they hit their ft's down the stretch. UNI, tried raining threes (18 of UNI's 43 shots were three point attempts) only taking it inside a few times to Tuttle or Buss.
Don't draw many shooting fouls, when you're chucking it up from 20-25 ft.
Obviously, you didn't watch the game or would have realized that already.

Besides all that....
UNI, if they take care of business tomorrow against Loyola, should be able to maintain their ranking.
Baylor, Colorado State, Ohio State, Washington, St. John's, & Georgetown all lost this week with San Diego State down to ACES victim Fresno State by 17.

I could be wrong and probably should let RDR speak for himself but I think that what he was saying is that Evansville has a reputation for pulling on shirts, pushing with hands, getting in's front and impeding someone's progress as they try to run the offense, and generally muck up a game to even out their size deficiencies. I specifically remember Colt Ryan doing this to Carl Hall at Wichita, just before our team went to the Final 4. Carl got into foul trouble and Ryan didn'. This team may be different.
