Not quite sure what you mean by "disparity"?
I think your grievance may have been valid, if the foul totals were 29-14.
But it wasn't. It was 19-14.
With UNI picking up four of those 19 in the last 90 seconds, when they were trying to extend the game.
So, up until that time the foul count was 15-14. The ACES were aggressive on offense and drew many plus 1's and they hit their ft's down the stretch. UNI, tried raining threes (18 of UNI's 43 shots were three point attempts) only taking it inside a few times to Tuttle or Buss.
Don't draw many shooting fouls, when you're chucking it up from 20-25 ft.
Obviously, you didn't watch the game or would have realized that already.

I could be wrong and probably should let RDR speak for himself but I think that what he was saying is that Evansville has a reputation for pulling on shirts, pushing with hands, getting in's front and impeding someone's progress as they try to run the offense, and generally muck up a game to even out their size deficiencies. I specifically remember Colt Ryan doing this to Carl Hall at Wichita, just before our team went to the Final 4. Carl got into foul trouble and Ryan didn'. This team may be different.

In the words of Denzel Washington, ..."explain this to me like I'm a six year old"...

How do you get from a replay to a comment about disparity in the number of free throw attempts in a game between UNI and The ACES, on Thursday.....all the way to something from two years ago between two players that aren't even in college anymore?
Because, to me it sounded like he was inferring to the reason behind the number of free throw attempts...I was simply offering an explanation....
There really wasn't a large difference in the number of fouls. Actually quite close, until the end, as I pointed out.
UNI took zero free throw shots, in the first half.
UNI took 18 FG attempts (8 of those being three point shots), in the second half. You don't get to the free throw line, without attacking the basket.
It was The ACES D, in the second half, that won that game. Exactly what both coaches stated after the game. Get over it and move on.

Think the real dilemma, for many in here is that The MVC might have to deal with The ACES, for at the very least, this and next year.
The ACES may go up to Terre Haute, this afternoon and lay an egg, on that image of The State of Indiana, at mid-court. It's what The ACES tend to do....And, as an ACES fan, I accept that. Why can't others, just accept that The ACES may be, "all that" this year and give them just a bit of respect?

I think you are misinterpreting the recent comments by RDR and mvcfan. I don't think that has anything to do with THEIR comments.

That's what I meant...exactly.
I was commenting on what happened on Thursday.
I explained, that there really wasn't a "disparity" in free throw attempts, if you look at the facts of the game and box score totals.
Both, in their comments, were bringing into the discussion of something in the past. This isn't about anything from the pat, it's about right here, right now.
I understand all that, just why can't others?
I know The ACES haven't been contenders in MVC basketball for over a decade. I even referred to that fact, in my comment. This year and next may be different.
I also find it interesting that you took a comment from my post and exclude this part.
...."The ACES may go up to Terre Haute, this afternoon and lay an egg, on that image of The State of Indiana, at mid-court. It's what The ACES tend to do....And, as an ACES fan, I accept that".....
Typical political spin to try and make the original post not portray the intended statement.

That part of my comment, was also exactly what I meant. Thursday, may have been a fluke, the entire season up to now, may be.
Who knows?
No one really will, until St Louis.
But, on Thursday, The ACES won that game. And, it had nothing to do with anything from the past.

Sorry, I got wrapped around the axle.

Fouls: UNI - 19 UE - 14

Free throws: UNI - 6-7 UE - 19-25

Anomaly, I suppose.

UNI got Evansvilled.

Evansville went out their next game and laid an egg a bad team...definition of being Evansvilled at its it's finest

UNI didn't play well enough to beat the Aces, just like the Aces didn't play well enough to be ISUb. Why not just let it go at that?

Well, UNI didn't play well enough to beat an 11-2 team, and Evansville didn't play well enough to beat a 5-8 team.

Bit of a difference there.
