It's funny that the aces are finally the victim of their style.

Looks like Evansville got Evansvilled.

That is the dumbest term in the history of message boards. Shocker fans came up with it cause they thought since EU or if you are an adult UE, would play bad in the non conference and then win and upset some of the better Valley teams.

Anyway, UE just loss today because of missed opportunities. I am certain you will not see any UE fans blame ISU for the loss unlike a few of the biggest crybaby fanbases in college basketball, they would tend to blame the other team for a crappy non conference rather look at your own team.

This loss will perhaps bring some of the UE faithful down a notch. You can never get too high or low after a win or loss. NCAA talk for UE was very premature. The road in the Valley is too tough and combine that with a historically bad road team it doesn't lead to good results. I do think they will be in the top 4 of the MVC and for UE that is a step in the right direction. They probably will end up with 5 or 6 losses. If they could get to the NIT or somehow win St. Louis then they would have exceeded all expectations.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned too much is UE has been down one starter since conference play opened up. That has been a huge factor.

If Giddy sticks around next year, I would fully expect them to tend for the conference championship.

The team doing the Evansvilling can change but the term is legit amd derived from years of it occurring.

Actually "getting Evansvilled" came from somehow managing to lose to a team that had no business winning the game. It's about a team that (on paper) was easily outmatched. Then that team plays a good game and the team that everyone expected to win the game plays badly enough to lose the game.

Evansville won a good number of those games (as the underdog) over the last 4 or 5 years. That's the actual origin of "getting Evansvilled". Now Evansville is a team likely to be favored in most Valley matchups.

The term has been around longer than UE has been good, so the term is likely to stick around, even as UE likely challenges for a Valley championship next year.

Strike a nerve much? You are forgiven, getting Evansville'd hurts and you're probably not sure how to cope with it yet. My team has been Evansville'd more times than I would have liked them to.

I don't think I've ever seen a coach complain so much in a game before. Honestly seeing about every game the Birds have played since Muller's been there I don't get that impression at all but we would need a more objective person to comment on the matter than me a Redbird homer and you a Redbird hater. What I will say tho is that on the road in a hostile environment the opposing team's coach has got to ride the refs somewhat to get any calls. If Dan was whining and complaining all game it must have worked since Shockers got I think maybe 5 fouls against them in first half and then a lot against them in the 2nd half. Hopefully we are healthy when we play you guys again. See you guys in February maybe Marshall and Dan can go out for Valentines day together after the game
