Cle and White were on the team together for the Final Four run.
Jake would contribute, but I'm not sure he'd be contributing much more than our freshmen. I think his biggest contribution would be as a foul eater.
I hate to disagree with a knowledgeable Shockers fan but I thought Jake was a really good player. He was kind of raw during that final four year but you could see the potential and evidently Marshall thought so too because he did get some PT. Marshall and staff seem to develop players well and I think he would have improved quite a bit under their tutelage. I think a front line of White and Carter would be really tough to match up against. Maybe the Shockers young big men will be something special in a few years but right now? I'd take White over them any day of the week (this year).
All just conjecture and my opinion of course.
Jake White is currently averaging: 18.7 mpg, 7.3 ppg, 36.8% FG%, 6.5 RPG, 62.5% FT%
If he could provide that at WSU, he'd be a big contributor right now. Big.
The difference is that WSU's noncon SOS was ranked 11th and Omaha's was ranked 347th. Against the kind of teams Omaha is playing, I would expect much better numbers from someone that would be a real contributor at WSU.
