It's crazy how many people here want to find reasons to be angry about everything. UNI has the best defense in the conference and one of the best in the country. Absolutely no one here could ever deny that.

UNI's defense isn't the reason WSU shot 15% from three until the very end, as at least a third of those threes were actually pretty open, but unquestionably UNI's defense is the reason WSU had one of their worst offensive nights overall.

And that's why many of us think UNI has the potential to have the best season in program history this year. They've still got the fundamental strengths they've always had and now also have good athletes.

Unfortunately, WSU had that opportunity in 2011-12 and 2013-14, too, and lost in the first weekend. Statistically, it was our worst team in that three year run that made it to the Final Four. The NCAA tournament is cruel sometimes.

As for Washpun, I don't think he was being a dick by hanging on the rim, but I wouldn't care if he was. He played amazing against one of the best defenses in the country. He earned the right to showboat if he wanted to.

The NCAA Tournament is all about Matchups, Matchups, Matchups.

UNI won two games in 2010 by playing two teams that wanted to get up and down and cause you to make mistakes to beat yourself. Kwadzo wasn't turning the ball over and we were able to play those two games at a pace that frustrated them. Go to the next game against Michigan State that was comfortable playing a game in the 50s and we couldn't get over the hump because of their superior talent playing the same style.

Same thing happened to Wichita against Kentucky last year. They were hot and wanted to more or less play the same style with better talent. Its a recipe for a loss in that tournament.

If you overreact to contact with the intention of increasing the likelihood of drawing a foul, that's flopping, IMO.

The most ridiculous cases don't involve any contact at all, and those are the most blatantly laughable ones. But by no means is that a requirement. It's obvious when the physical reaction is delayed or not proportional to the amount of contact.
That "proportional" aspect is really tough to judge. Wes is listed at 175 lbs, but somehow, I doubt that. When Baker runs into Wes, I'm not surprised to see Wes go flying.

But really, the foul is about the position and the contact, not the aftermath. You don't get a charge because someone went to the floor. It's because you ran into him.

Is there any television for the UNI v. INS game on 2/3/15?

If so, a link please.

Thank you.

Are you talking about "Look at me" Washpun?

A UNI guy does it and it's Wes "Look at me" Washpun

WSU guy does it and it's swagger/confidence

UNI was ripped for years for having slow, white, nonathletic farm boys and now that we have a team that has athleticism it's "LOOK AT ME" type players.

I have some bad news for you, bud.

"Look at me" was playing to the camera on almost every possession.

Besides "Look at me", who else on the UNI team has great athletic ability? How many of them play regularly?

Playing to the camera? Wes plays like that during closed door practices. He's an energy guy, and a great player on top of it.

I dont know how anybody that likes basketball could be offended by Wes Washpun. Sounds like sore loser complaining to me.

I seem to remember Cleanthony Early cocking off and taunting the UNI bench in last years game at The McLeod center after he hit a jumper on the FIRST play of the game. Dont remember you bitching about that...

that's just swagger.

If they think Wes and Tut were playing to the camera they've never...ever...seen those two play. You are absolutely correct that's how they play in a game, practice, summer league, etc...

Let's put this to rest, UNI had a solid game and Wichita didn't come to play

Did they make any of these for the UNI-Iowa games?

Seems like a pretty big deal to me.
