Yep.

Drake has won 3 in a row, playing best ball of the season and drubbed by 16.

WSU curb stomped MSU.

WSU or UNI might slip before the rematch but thosectwo are head and shoulders above the league as a whole right now

Definitely agreed. Timmer is by far the most impressive freshman I've seen in the league.

And I agree that Drake is readying to turn the corner. They've got young building blocks with a few possible future stars, and some good talent coming in. I think the next few years will be consistent improvement.

I expect IlSt to be a very good team the next two years, though, so I'd be careful about calling them anything ridiculous this year. They're a very young team still.

Young team, sure. Absolute garbage coach though.

Possibly very true. I'm definitely not impressed so far.

Next year is when I'll make that decision fully. Ultimately, he's still starting four sophomores, only one with a RS year. That's not a recipe for winning.

Mentally weak and inconsistent are both fair. Lynch, Lee and Wills have all shown they can play well in this league. They're all in their second year. DAP, Hawkins and McIntosh have all shown they can play well in this league. They're all in their first year. If they improve as a group, we should be pretty good next season. Will we be great? Not so sure. Muller is 24-24 in 2+ seasons of MVC play. I think we have an average coach. He needs to improve as well.

As rhl often says: TBD.

FWIW, Reggie Lynch hasn't improved like I thought he might.

Offensive game has improved greatly. Defensively, just needs to learn not to foul!

When the team defensive strategy is to funnel everyone to a shot blocker, and have that shot blocker try to block every incoming shot, said shot blocking player is going to pick up a lot of fouls. His fouling might actually be helped more by his perimeter defenders learning to keep their man in front of them more often.

Unless WSU finishes strong AND with their freshman contributing a lot, I will be surprised if ISU isn't picked to win the conference next fall.
