Sorry for the long post, but I find it interesting that I didn't select a second Panther for the top 10.

I don't think starting is relevant to the conversation. It's a coaches decision in order to have Wes provide a spark off the bench and a result of the effectiveness of the current starting 5. Wes isn't on the bench because he's worse than Deon.

If you looks at Wes' per 40 stats he's not an 8, 3 and 3 guy. He's a 14.6, 5 and 5 guy and is a better defender than Beane and Brown. He could be every bit as prolific a scorer as Beane if he needed to be. Anthony Beane is scoring 16 pts on 13 shots. Wes is scoring 8.4 on 5.5 shots. Wes does a much better job of getting to the line as well.

Again, Washpun is a really good defender and is shooting 49% on the season while helping lead the #11 team in the country and is in the hunt for a conference championship.

Well on a per 40 basis Beane is an 18.5, 4 and 1 guy. Is Beane the one you remove?

Yes Beane's the go to guy on one of the worst teams in the MVC. Wes is not the go-to-guy for UNI but is a huge reason for their success. He's one of the biggest reasons the Panthers blew out Bradley today despite the essential triple team on Tuttle. I guess you had Devonte Brown in there too. Tough question between those 3, since ISUb is having success too, but as a homer I'd say Wes is more worthy than either of those two.

Even if they finish 2nd by losing in Wichita next weekend there will still be more than 1 player on 1st or 2nd team. It is just going to happen. Whether you feel they deserve it because of stats or not it is just the way it will work.

If you get MVP, COY, 6th man, All defense team, newcomer teams, etc. those could add up to 2nd place team without having more than one on 1st and 2nd teams.

I believe the MVC awards (including POY) are awarded prior to the tournament finale.

So...WSU won the MVC championship. Is Tuttle the POY? Is Marshall the COY?

I'd give it to Baker and Marshall

As much as I love Fred, I'd give POY to Tuttle. He led his team to unprcedented heights. Fred is a close 2nd with Ron also on 1st team. Marshall gets COY, IMO.
