And damn I'm glad they did -- they made the MVC relevant this year, in a way WSU dominating last year could never do. It's going to be interesting to see if they can maintain next year or have to go into a rebuilding period without Tuttle. If Jacobson's going to be able to build a perennial 25 game winner at UNI moving forward, that will be tremendous for the conference.
We will without a doubt take a big step back next year. Every UNI fan knew this was
the year and if we didn't make it special, the NCAA drought was going to continue for at least another couple years. My best guess is we will be a bubble team or NIT team next year unless we have an unexpected impact player in the front court. Our backcourt will be fairly solid with everyone but Deon returning.
Fortunately the year turned out 10x better than even the most optimistic UNI fans predicted. I really wish we had a scholly open for a potential transfer this off season. We have some obvious holes to fill next year and UNI's stock has never been higher. It's possible someone buried on the bench decides to hang it up and something opens up, but I'm not counting on it.
