BUT, it says a lot about what is wrong with college basketball today that people at the same sports desk think a team will be the 10th best in the country next year, but also deserve a 6 seed.
It's not the people at the sports desk that decide seedings, it's the selection committee. The guys at the sports desk use the criteria they know the committee will use.
The same thing happened to us this year, so I don't think that's an unreasonable prediction. Although I do think this year was an anomaly given our nonconference SOS and how many programs had their worst year in recent memory after playing us. If we beat Utah at home we're a seed or two higher than this year even if everything else stays equal.
