NCAA Tournament - Wichita State vs Arizona game thread

At this point, if Wichita surprises you with their level of play shame on you. This is fun to watch. Bash the league nationally but to see how at times Wichita struggled in league play to me speaks to the strength of how some coaches/team prepare in The Valley. It's a grind and just because the schools that make up this league might not be the first school that comes to mind when you think of that particular state does in no way diminish the talent.

Enjoy this Shocker fans. Watching my experienced UE team, led by 3 guys who I respect so much was a joy all season, especially in St. Louis. That was so much fun, despite the final shot not going UE's way. This is a special group of Shocker seniors who've done so much for the program and in talking to a few of the WSU fans the past two seasons in STL, I could see the pride and appreciation those fans had for this team and especially Van Vleet and Baker.

Nothing is a sure thing in this tournament and every round is a struggle. It's been a pleasure watching WSU soar these last few seasons and best of luck the rest of the way tonight and all tournament long. Your squad, as I'm sure UNI will as well, represent the league in a great manner.

9-3 record in the NCAA Tournament for VanVleet and Baker. Remarkable.

Against a roster full of Top 25, 50 and 100 recruits, the Shox out-scored their bench 27-8.
