And of course we keep shooting 50% of our shots from 3. We have guys like Haldeman, Ashton, Morgan, Carlson, etc. These are all great 3 point shooters. And when you play a team like Oklahoma with bigger, better athletes it makes it more difficult to get near the rim. You just take what the defense gives you.
Now we get two shots at Xavier in a row. Hopefully we can take home the Tire Pros championship! Go Panthers!
Nice win. I saw some of the OU game but didn't see McCloud. I heard so much about him earlier, I was looking forward to see him but only saw Haldeman. What has J. McCloud done so far or does Haldeman look to be the main PG?
McCloud had a bad night, not horrible, but just off based on what OU was doing defensively. Jacobson decided to go with Haldeman as an extra shooting threat to try and open up the OU defense (also why Koch was off the floor, putting Carlson at the 5). Haldeman had made 5 threes in the first game, so OU would have been aware of him as a threat. He did a nice job on Woodard as well.
McCloud had 15 minutes, 2 points, 1 assist, 1 turnover, 3 rebounds, 1 steal (1-4 shooting)
Haldeman had 26 minutes, 8 points, 1 assist, 4 turnovers, 5 rebounds (3-7 shooting, 2-6 from 3)
Lohaus was also on the floor with Morgan as ball handlers down the stretch.
