Conner is averaging 7 points, 4 assists in 23 minutes and has a 6:1 A:TO.

Daishon is averaging 7 and 3 in 16 with 2.5:1.

They aren't doing too bad!

I'm waiting until the guards get pushed a bit.

Nobody expect Rauno to be dominant, but he had shown decent ability and I figured he'd get stronger and be a solid backup and I believe that's happened. He looked good as a FR prior to getting really sick and losing a lot of weight. Last year he was going to RS to get stronger but when Grady went down he ended up playing and showed a fair amount of progress by the end of the year.

I can't speak for all Shocker fans, but I felt pretty good about the post going into this season. My question was PG. Frankamp is a more natural SG, though he shoots better off the bounce as opposed to catch and shoot. He may end up being an alright PG but I'm not going to come to any conclusions yet. Smith is a JC guy but has a lot of potential, but JC guys normally take a bit to adapt. I love Reaves and have been excited about him since we signed him, but I figured his slight build would limit him this year.

I'm no longer overly concerned about PG, but I still think that is probably the biggest potential weakness right now on this team. And I don't think it's that big of a weakness and it will get stronger throughout the year. The surprise in the post has been Hamilton. He's not playing a lot, but he looks much better than he did last year and not quite as lost, though those moments still happen.

I'll defer to you regarding Shaq. I watched a fair number of Shox games but not nearly all. Most of the games I saw Morris was in foul trouble a significant portion of the time, in Marshall's doghouse, or he just seemed disinterested. He even seemed kind of out of shape the game I saw in person in Springfield. Maybe a small sample size on my part though.

I have to say I'm hoping I'm right and you are wrong though. If he's put it together WSU can probably really exploit the Bears inside.

I'm not dissing the Shox at all. I expect WSU to win the Valley again. But I'm hoping UNI and maybe even the Bears can make it interesting this year.

I know you're not dissing anyone. Shaq made huge strides last year in my opinion and a lot of that is thanks to Fred. By all accounts he's in the best shape of his life. Now, he has had some foul problems early although I think he's gotten the short end on some of those. I truly felt more concerned with the point as we were totally unproven there coming into the season. Especially when it was announced that Shamet would be playing off ball as I felt he was our best option at PG.

I would love to see another school or two push us. But I hope that's because they're stepping up and not that we're falling. Tomorrow will be interesting as I'm assuming we'll play L'ville and I think we'll all agree that they're a legit opponent. But I feel good about our chances.

Not that this diminishes your concern, but Shaq had 11 points and 13 rebounds in 26 minutes last year in two games against MSU.

MSU jacking up 3s. They could pass a little more.

Shooting 4 of 8 from 3 so far. With the shooters we have if they are open they are going to shoot it from there.

Not a bad half for the Bears. Up 31 - 22 at DePaul.
