It was a foul. They showed it half a dozen times on TV here. It doesn't really matter how much time was on the clock or what happened earlier in the game. All that matters is that on that play, they judged the contact to be a foul. We had many chances to put ISU away and kept blowing them. It also would have been nice to at least slow Kelly down on his way to the basket instead of making Weems come over and try to make some heroic play at the rim on him.

"Great win by ISU-B, they can definitely hang w/the contenders. I won't call them a legit title contender until they beat WSU, MSU, UNI or CU on the road though. Time will tell....too bad they couldn't play like this at the beginning of the season, they are making the MVC look bad!"

Sycamores played a total of THREE (3) games AT HOME in the non-conference. Three, only three.

Also the comment concerning the officiating. It was terrible all night long. Every MSU drive to the bucket a foul was called and on every ISU drive the bumps and slaps were ignored for the entire last ten minutes of the game UNTIL ON THE VERY LAST PLAY OF THE GAME and if some justice was rewarded the same official that made the call had been hanging out on the other end and making those same calls all game long.

As I said earlier the Bears have a good team but the Sycamores were better last night. You lost it, accept it, and move on. Still a lot of basketball to be played.

GO SYCAMORES!

So how the heck does MSU let him get all the way to the basket leading by 2 with seconds left in the game? I'd expect that from CU, but MSU is so much quicker and more athletic than CU. Force a pull up jumper or something, but don't let him get to the rim. And for goodness sakes don't foul him on a lay-up in the last second - unless you are going to knock him to the floor with no chance of the shot going in. Give up the two at that point and go to overtime.

You were better on your home court by 1 freethrow with a call that isn't made 9 out of 10 times at the end of a game. You are right about there being a lot of basketball to play and I like the fact we are tied at 7-1 with the Bears having 4 road wins...see ya Feb 5th.

I think ISU is starting to become a very good team and will be a force to reckon with next year. I just don't think they will be in contention (at this point anyway) for the MVC title at the end of the season and I'll stick with my 4th place finish for them. I base this on the fact that it took a last second tip in at the buzzer to beat CU and a last second buzzer beater and help from a ref to beat MSU and these were both on their home floor. Playing teams that tight at home does not bode well when you go into places like UNI, CU, MSU, WSU, & SIU where these teams usually have a big home court advantage themselves.

I predict the Bears will be in sole possession of first place come Saturday night as I think they will beat CU at home and I also believe that ISUb will lose to what should be a very angry WSU team with their backs against the wall in Wichita and I'm not even sure it will be that close.

If you don't like this prediction ISU fans then prove me wrong and I will be more than happy to give you your due by starting a thread titled "ISU Is For Real!". Until then I'm sticking with 4th place.

Not sure...Kelly is shooting 30% from three on the season and Mallett should have backed off a bit and make him hit a jumper. Instead he got up in him and Kelly made a good move to get to the basket. ISU was 8-16 from trey land so I know that factored into it but I wasn't worried about Kelly making one.

I always thought the most crybaby fans lived in Wichita.................man was I wrong. They really live a few miles east of Wichita in "Springpatch". The officials cost them the game, not the fact that the Bears were tired and didn't defend the perimeter in the 2nd half like the first half (yeah I know, these are 20-22 year old kids and they don't get tired) total BS.......they were tired and bumped and reached all night with no call UNTIL THE VERY LAST PLAY OF THE GAME. The official had enough guts to finally call it. The Bears are a good team, their fans are crybaby excuse-makers and the Sycamores won last night. If you give no credit for the ISU win then you disrespect your own team in your effort to justify why they lost.

Oh and by the way, the Bears short bench will continue to hamper them in their attempt to keep pace at the top of the league.

It was a fun game to watch, but I'm sorry...

YOU CAN'T CALL THAT A FOUL ON WEEMS IF YOU DON'T/DIDN'T CALL IT A FREAKING FOUL ON ISU ON THAT RICKS DRIVE 12 SECONDS BEFORE.
