It'll end up being Mizzou vs Wichita State and K-State vs Missouri State, little birdie says.

That is the scheduling coup of the year for MSU if true. I would also be very happy with a neutral court game against Mizzou for WSU.

Why is that? We played OK State last year...don't see how K State is much different especially with the coaching tree connection

I think getting a neutral court game against KSU as one of 2 MVC teams in a marquee event is a pretty good pull for a squad coming off an 11-22 season.

Well coming off your 11-20 season a few years ago you guys figured out a way to play ranked Georgetown and Michigan St the next year so it can be done. We just had a bad year and most people know we will be much better next year after starting 4 frosh a lot this year and getting Gulley back.

Those games were part of an exempt tournament featuring 8 teams- playing us was a necessary evil so that those teams could move on to better foes. Georgetown, for example, would have never agreed to a one off neutral court showdown against us that season without more to gain (like a matchup against Michigan State the next day).

I think you are taking this as a slight when that's not how I mean it. For example, if Minnesota agreed to play a neutral court game next season against Central Michigan in Chicago, I'm pretty sure everyone would think "Damn, Central Michigan made out pretty well in that arrangement." If the game were the first-round of the Preseason NIT or something, it would be less noteworthy because Minnesota has more to gain than just playing CMU.

I hope it works out.

I think people know we are usually decent (won the Valley just 2 years ago), aren't very far from KC and return some pieces from a team that was competitive in Valley play which will probably be picked preseason in the upper half. I know we are talking to K State but as I said I don't know if it is for this...just a guess.

LOL if its KSU/MSU and WSU/Mizzou.

Everybody, everybody would agree that the other way around would be the more appealing/interesting match up. The lengths that big state schools go to no lose to "little brother" is amazing.

Nonetheless, in any shape or form that this happens would be good for the schedules of both Valley schools.
