I read somewhere....forgot...wish I could link it...but Kansas is something like top 20 revenue sports schools and they basically don't have a football program. If true the B1G should deffinitely add Kansas because they're one of the few schools where football doesn't matter.

The Big Ten West is probably one the weakest (generally) FBS divisions out there.

The Valley should expand to solidify the basketball side while they still can. When the powers break off the Big East will be allowed in their playoffs. Lets, make sure the MVC is, as well because right now they wouldn't be. Make a super conference like everyone else. Beat everyone else to the punch and do whaever it takes.

7 of those schools would be laughing too hard to talk when they found out who was calling.

I'm all for talking about scenarios where we can, and should, expand but we've got to stay out of fantasy land.

The list of candidates looks like this (not necessarily in order):
UT-Arlington
Oral Roberts
Murray State
Belmont
South Dakota State
North Dakota State
Milwaukee
Omaha
UIC
Grand Canyon (MAYBE)
St Thomas (after DI transition)

No point if that's what you get. It will have 0 effect. The era of 1 or 2 team adds are over because it won't make a dent. Maybe the a-10 and mvc can merge since both are strictly basketball. I'd rather it be the mwc but they're fbs and the summit isn't good enough. Thank God the Mac is fbs to dodge a bullet. Hell, merge with the wcc too.

Not that it would ever happen, but why? What would be different, excepting watered down payments for winning games in the Dance? I've never been a fan of blindly following the herd.

If we could get Murray State and Belmont it would be common sense to go to 12. I'm not a huge Belmont advocate due to their very small fan base, but their program has been consistently good for quite a while now.

I don't really mind splitting up tourney revenue into 2 more slices. If either one of them made the tournament and won a game they would pay for themselves. They're also good respected programs and one of the two has a larger fan base.

If splitting revenue was such a big issue we should have stuck with 9 after Creighton left and then stuck with 8 after Wichita left.

I'm not a fan of going to 14 or anything ridiculous like that, but I think 12 in today's climate is a really good number. With how fluid things are getting, going to 11 for a few years would also be an okay move. We shouldn't add just to add, but if we can get traditionally good regional programs into the MVC then we should do it. Murray and Belmont are the only two that currently fit that bill.

Those two adds will do nothing. It has to be massive. Were past the time where 2 adds is good. Times have changed in the past month

Did I miss the part where the league jumped to the FBS and got a billion dollar TV deal? I think that would have made the news somewhere.

Nothing changed at our level. Nothing. If the big boys decide to leave the NCAA and form their super league no number of teams we add (and your list was ridiculous anyway) are going to get us into that league. Find two sensible adds, go to 20 league games and be done with it for now while keeping your eyes open. Arlington gets the first spot and then you figure out which one of Oral Roberts, Murray State and Belmont is the best fit.

Arlington is not getting into the MVC this year, next year, or within the next 30 year's unless there is some major fallout within our conference. They're a public extension campus in Texas and they make absolutely zero sense. If they were a private with a ton of money then maybe (see Loyola), but that's still too far.

They shouldn't even be in the Top 10 of schools the MVC looks at. If the MVC really wants to add a public non-FB school in a big market where nobody cares about said school, we can all send our teams on a bus to UW-Milwaukee.
