Pretty much non-existent unless we are still playing on the weekend. I can't imagine too many people are going to rearrange work schedules, and take off to St. Louis for a Thursday night game with Valpo after the winless conference season. I'm not, especially when I can stay home, save a ton of money and watch some pretty good basketball at the OVC Tourney. I will probably go Saturday if by some miracle they are still alive.

Aces fans have proven they will show up in droves if given a reason to.

I don't mean to pile on but does everyone realize Evansville 's women's basketball team is also currently winless? 0-16 (2 games left). That's incredible.

Since Dec 29, 2017 (3 complete conference seasons, less next week's games) the UE WBB team has won 2 MVC games. 2-50.

In 2017-18 season, the Lady Aces finished dead last in RPI, being 1-27 against D1 competition that year.

Going back a bit further, since January 1, 2009 UE WBB has won 44 MVC games, 44-170 cumulative record for a winning percentage of .205.

If not for McCarty's "oopsie", there would be a lot more negative attention on the ladies. Even with the situation on the men's side, I think it is likely there's a coaching change made there in a week.

Wow. Had no idea it went that far back.

Valpo made a long-overdue coaching change in the womens program two years ago and it has brought very good results. The team is exciting and more competitive and winning at a much higher clip. There is hope that our womens team can compete in this league going forward now, that was not there under the previous coach. Just something to maybe lend some hope and let Aces fans know that it can be done at schools like ours (I feel like our schools are fairly similar) and that embracing needed change is good for the program. Good luck.

Thanks for the kind words. Probably most people don't know that the ladies don't even play their games at the Ford Center any more. They are played at the athletic center on campus, with a capacity of less than 1200. Almost every high school gym in Evansville is bigger. Recruiting will be very difficult under these circumstances with the present leadership, but hopefully with new leadership anything will be better than what we have had the last four years.

Is the AD going to be collateral damage of the Walter situation? He sure as hell should be when you also look at results.

Given how competitive our two games against them were I would hardly call losing to them an upset although it would be very disappointing to be the ONLY team another team beats.

One thing is certain, if ILSU and UE somehow by divine intervention make it to Sunday, Elgin will insure it is the end of all 10 teams going to St. Louis. A decision I really couldn't argue with. Neither one of us really have any business playing another game, let alone potentially popping bubbles.

Fortunately for us, we won't be in a position to pop any bubbles unless we end up facing UNI on Sunday. If UNI makes it that far, they are probably in regardless, and the odds of us making it to that game are pretty much non-existent.

We darn sure better not be looking ahead to Friday. We have no business doing that at all. I hope you're right on UNI. I really do. But I think they need us to win on Thursday so that they can keep their Q2 win over us. They might need some help as well (particularly from South Carolina getting into the top 50 to make that win Q1.) The tiebreakers didn't do them any favors. Bradley losing that tiebreaker put them on the UNI side of the bracket which will make that game Q3 unless a miracle happens and Bradley gets into the top 100 somehow before then). UNI could have really used another Q2 opportunity before the final to bolster their case. Since the only Q2 game they'll get is the final, they might have to win that game. Ideally as well is a Loyola-ISUb semifinal and playing SIU in their semifinal after beating Valpo would probably be best because it makes their losses look just a little bit better (Illinois State beating Drake would probably help as well).

Hey, Evansville beat two teams from Kentucky that are among the best programs in the country. If you don’t believe that, just ask a Murray State fan!!

They are one of the best programs in the country for their level and have been for decades but I think you'd be hard pressed to find a fan that thinks they're any better than the third best program in the state of Kentucky and it's not close between them and the top two.
