Given how competitive our two games against them were I would hardly call losing to them an upset although it would be very disappointing to be the ONLY team another team beats.

One thing is certain, if ILSU and UE somehow by divine intervention make it to Sunday, Elgin will insure it is the end of all 10 teams going to St. Louis. A decision I really couldn't argue with. Neither one of us really have any business playing another game, let alone potentially popping bubbles.
Fortunately for us, we won't be in a position to pop any bubbles unless we end up facing UNI on Sunday. If UNI makes it that far, they are probably in regardless, and the odds of us making it to that game are pretty much non-existent.
We darn sure better not be looking ahead to Friday. We have no business doing that at all. I hope you're right on UNI. I really do. But I think they need us to win on Thursday so that they can keep their Q2 win over us. They might need some help as well (particularly from South Carolina getting into the top 50 to make that win Q1.) The tiebreakers didn't do them any favors. Bradley losing that tiebreaker put them on the UNI side of the bracket which will make that game Q3 unless a miracle happens and Bradley gets into the top 100 somehow before then). UNI could have really used another Q2 opportunity before the final to bolster their case. Since the only Q2 game they'll get is the final, they might have to win that game. Ideally as well is a Loyola-ISUb semifinal and playing SIU in their semifinal after beating Valpo would probably be best because it makes their losses look just a little bit better (Illinois State beating Drake would probably help as well).
