Need one or 2 D2s in Minnesota to grow into D1s: maybe Mankato State and St Cloud St. Both in the 14-15 K enrollment, good, high level D2 FB that could build to D1 FSC. Hopefully the same for their BB programs.

MN State Mankato and St. Cloud State are two branch campuses of the same institution, along with Bemidji State, MN State Moorhead, Southwest Minnesota State, and Winona State. Since they all share one Chancellor and one Board of Regents, and all exist in the same D2 conference, they probably all move (or stay) together.

So for political reasons, I suspect nothing ever changes.

OR, the NCAA should permit D1/D2 mixed conferences: like a school D2 in FB and D1 in BB, or a mixed set of D1/D2 teams by gender (mens' D1 and womens' D2).

Mixed gender wouldn't fly with Title IX.

Unsurprisingly, this article says nothing is imminent regarding MVC expansion but interestingly, it says that the machinations of the P5 scheduling cabal may force us in that direction which I've been saying since Valpo and Murray State was wrongly treated as an either\or proposition instead of bringing both programs into the league together.

Those who support NKU as an expansion option will be happy to know that according to this thread NKU will begin a 4 year home and home series will Cincinnati in 2019.

Oh and their star PG Ja Morant made the Chris Paul Elite Camp alongside MVC Player of the Year Clayton Custer and others.

Murray State would be a seamless fit and contend almost every year, especially with the recruiting boost they would see from MVC Membership.

I think we go if an invitation were extended. But we can’t wait and plan only for something for which we have no control. I know that a vast majority of fans would like to see the change.
