Ok, the time is here. This game will end with an inconclusive result because of the structural integrity of Charles Koch Arena....not because of the amount of fans, but due to a car hitting the building.

In all seriousness, before this thread gets out of hand......

I think the if the Birds play their game, defense the crap out of them and make some timely buckets, Illinois State walks out of the Roundhouse with a win....if not, Shox are really tough at home and will win.

Can both teams lose? I think Wichita has a decisive victory, especially with MM not playing for the Birds.

Either team can win this game. With MM I don't think I make that statement.

Before the MM injury I would have taken the Redbirds in a close one. Without him I'll pick the shockers by 10.

A little history about this rivalry...

The first meeting was in 1937 which ISU won 41-27.

They didn't meet again until the Redbirds joined the Valley in 1982.

WSU leads the head to head record at 41-40.

WSU's version of Super Bowls include NCAA Tournament games, Sweet 16 games, and Final Fours. Considering yellow is the primary color displayed at every game and it's always full, this game isn't any different in that aspect. Sorry retire12.

The hype for this game is generated by the fact that it's Saturday night (a rare game time now at Koch) and ESPN2. We've done the shirts thing before in front of national tv audiences, Indiana State comes to mind with the checker bowl. It has nothing to do with opponent, but rather the game broadcast. Can't be said the other way around at Illinois State. Sorry if that rubs retire12 and a other Redbird fans the wrong way.

Hopefully, Austin Reeves will be ready to go for us.

If MM was playing, WSU wins by 7.
If MM is out, WSU wins by 13.

If Hawkins was out, ...ah the hell with it... that would never happen.

You do realize the super bowl talk going on is tongue in cheek right? We're mocking you for all of the times you call your games with everyone their "Super Bowl".
