Look at page 189 of the current media guide.

So, you're comparing recent Valley members W/L % with the W/L % of teams that were in the Valley when the Valley was the #1 basketball league in the nation and typically had multiple top-5 teams, had multiple National Championships, and produced multiple high-level NBA players.

Yeah, that might skew the results just a tad.

Recent...ISUr has been in the Valley 35 years? The winning percentages were referenced in regards to the football/non football debate.

ISUr has played football the whole time and WSU has NOT played football for the last 30 years. If funding football "dooms you to failure" in basketball then why does ISUr have the all-time best winning percentage
in Valley Hoops for current members?

Also why did it take WSU almost 25 years to "rise up" from mediocrity with this influx of money that used to go towards football?

Football sure has "doomed" UNI as well. They could only afford to pay Jacobson $1 million in a mid-major conference. Poor UNI.

The fact that you are projecting favorites in early April is laughable. Not one team has their roster set and there will be defections and commitments that will change the outlook. Loyola, Ill. St., and SIU all added kids later than this last year that were starters or big time contributors.

Then, why have these types of fluff pieces for next year already? It's called talking points (or conversation starters) and are what message boards are for as well...

I know Shocker fans are loving their top 10 ranking predictions for next year and not calling those early projections laughable.

Their roster is set with a 2 deep roster of proven guys that played this year. Are you seriously comparing the 2 situations. There is not a valley roster as of now that doesn't have gaping holes and in your case you're a M.Mcintosh transfer away from being in real trouble. Replacing a 4 year PG is one of the hardest jobs in mid major basketball

Yes, I get that. You are missing the point.

Talking about next year, even without things set in stone is fun and conversation starters. It's the reason I tagged those two articles. People read them, then comment on them. This is a message board after all.

NDSU does not need sdsu as a package to the mvc.

NDSU can go alone, easily to the MVC. 4000 fans average, can be 5500 easily with MVC schedule.

Chicago to Fargo flies every single day, $119.

NDSU willing to upgrade their basketball program, 3 big dances in 8 years, 1 big dance win in 2014.

NDSU already hated rivals with UNI & ISU in football. SIU/Missouri st/Indiana st have history as well.

All the shocker fans are saying let's leave the weak MVC because it hurts our rpi.
And it's obvious that top to bottom the teams in the new conference have higher rpis.
Now instead of Wichita playing tougher teams in the preseason will they schedule weaker
teams now.
Do you think they will schedule any of the valley teams after they leave.I can't remember
The last time Creighton has played a ex valley team.So maybe the valley isn't as weak
As everyone has thought. We'll see if Wichita schedules Drake, Bradley,or theAces
To get that EASY pre conference win :bounce: :bounce:

Just as a point of clarification, the bottom of the AAC (current members) is putrid. Teams 9-11 (USF, ECU, and Tulane) compare with Drake and Bradleys RPI. Teams 1 and 2 are similar across the conferences. Where the AAC offers a real advantage is that teams 3-7 are better than #3 in the MVC.

I hope WSU plays a couple of Valley teams every year!

NDSU has literally never averaged 4,000+ fans.

Last season - first year in their brand new arena - playing against long standing rivals USD, SDSU, UND - finish a head of only Drake and Loyola in attendance.

This past year was also, far and away, their best year for attendance. Their average attedance has been less than 2,500 more than 2,500 over the last decade.
