Valparaiso to join MVC

Not quite official yet, but we all know the truth now.

Started a poll to see what everyone's opinion is. I gave it a C. Definitely would have gave it an A had we added Murray State too. Pretty disappointing.

Would have been an A move when Creighton left. Now, an F! The landscape has changed but the Valley brass and Presidents are 20 years behind.

I stated this the day WSU left.

An expansion to 11 with both Valpo/Murray is an A+.
An expansion to 10 with only one is a complete failure.

The conference should've added Valparaiso back when Creighton left. Then this year we could've just added Murray State and we would have been fine.

The sad part is that Loyola actually has a decent shot of winning the conference next year, which should say something about our current members. The teams in our conference really need to start stepping it up.

I gave it a C as they got it half right adding Valpo. Wish Murray State had been with them or Murray State and UWM. Give a tiny bit of credit for not inviting UN-O.

What this says is the league didn't want UWM or UNO.

IMO it says that if Belmont wasn't joining, Murray State had no shot as it wouldn't be an even public/private split.

I voted F.

While not fair to Valpo, the grade is not a reflection on Valpo. It's a reflection on the conference leadership, on the process, and the failure to see past the tip of their upturned noses.

This is a good point. I don't think anyone is upset that Valpo is being added. In fact, I think almost everyone thinks it's a good idea, given the options. It's just not a very viable complete solution.
