MSU,

all you have to do is out coach us.... Just watch what jacobson did with us from uni.. felt like a cat in the living room and jacobson was holding the string making run around the room with no luck catching the string!

You got that right.

Check out http://www.drakenation.com There are probably 20 active threads about how terrible Phelps is.

Drake fans have to stay patient. I know some of the drubbings they took early hurt especially to Iowa State and the Johnies but that's part of it with a newish regime sometimes. What does Drake have like two seniors? They'll be fine in time, but they'll have to grow together and take their lumps. Nothing worthwile ever came easy.

Now enough niceness, Cuonzo gonna go medieval on y'all tomorrow night. Be forewarned Des Moines.

Dude, a couple of quick thoughts. One we are talking about basketball here, not something serious. This is supposed to be fun. Secondly, this is a message board man. Not some stuffy classroom filled with academia or something.

Bonus thought: I am a Missouri State fan but my thoughts and opinions do not necessarily represent those of the university, etc. Basically, just relax man. It's all good. I know we have never really assumed our rightful place atop the Valley and some MSU fans are waiting for the other shoe to drop. Ain't happening with this bunch and this coach. This is OUR time, enjoy the ride!

Only one senior. But, I'm not buying the "newish regime" angle. Coach is in his 3rd year now, and there's been a lot more steps back than forward. It's not like he took over a last place team.....he inherited 2 all-conference players from a 28-5 team.....and hasn't avoided the play-in game yet, while seeing his record get worse every season.

Bulldog fans figured there would be a lot of ups and downs this season, due to the youth. But, there have just been downs, no ups. No unexpected victories, no losses where fans could take heart by talking about how well the young guys played.

It's almost certain that next season will be better, and should be better the season after that too. But is "better" good enough? Let's say the team goes 7-11 in the MVC next season....it will be an improvement over this year, but is that acceptable in year 4?

The style of basketball is boring, he doesn't run a system designed to play to the strengths of each player, can't make adjustments during games, the team generally performs very poorly out of the locker room (both halves), is terrible out of timeouts, and attendance is dropping, with a lot of fans grumbling about not renewing tickets next season.

Seriously, would have you been ok with Cuonzo going 4-14 or 5-13 in year 3? That's probably what the Bulldogs are looking at this season.

Unfortunately the Bears do not take prisoners. The Bears should start out strong and probably will have Drake reeling by the under 16 media timeout. I don't see the Bulldogs having the heart to change things once the momentum starts rolling against them and it most assuredly will.

Bears by about 15 as Drake cuts back into it with both teams scrubs playing. Cuonzo will go Mirko Cro Cop on Mark Phelps in the handshake line, but that'll be the only drama.

Have I mentioned how happy I am to see this poster around??

Drake's losses in conference are by an average of 15 points. That being said, they are 3-2 at home in conference. That being said, their three home wins are against the other three of the bottom four, with Drake being the fourth, so their home wins don't really say much.

On paper, this looks ugly, even for Drake at home....but there is a reason they drop the ball. To me, Drakes only hope is to get off to a fast start and get MSU out of the flow. If MSU gets hot early, this will get ugly.

Last year Drake was unconscious from beyond the arc! I was watching on the internet and the local Drake broadcasters were laughing about how ridiculous it was and how much fun they were having calling the game...I was so pissed, but mainly in our inability to get out and guard the perimeter - it was a huge weakness for us last year. This year we seem to be doing a much better job on outside shooters, but are having a little trouble against drives to the basket. I am certainly concerned about this game as we tend to play everyone close, and a loss here would be demoralizing for the Bears...I expect 'Zo to have the guys ready and focused though, leaving Des Moines with a W!
